Meet with Her

The guards hadn't stepped off the porch. In fact when Silas slipped out of the room one of the hulking brutes was standing there, just inside of the doorway staring at the door. His eyebrows jerked upwards as he noted the unbuttoned buttons of the Alpha's wrinkled shirt.

"I was just trying to find my wife's dressing room. I heard a commotion and came out, then went to the wrong room." This time he really was ready to shift if the giant before him so much as moved in his direction. Instead the man simply smirked at him.

"I could hear the whole thing, for all that you were trying to fuck her quietly. These walls are paper thin. What the Hell do I care as long as she's alive in there. And she certainly didn't sound unhappy. Bet your wife would be if she was the one who'd come back here first. She'll be on her way soon though man, so you better get back in that dressing room and button those buttons." He began to turn back to look out toward whatever was going on on the street outside.

"Didn't know the Captain's little sister was such a little slut, spreading her legs for some bloke she'd just met in a shop. Sure the King will be happy to hear that. He'll probably give her a good hard try by the end of the week"

Silas disappeared back into his dressing room, buttoning his shirt and mindlinking his mate's mother as he fought down the urge to take off the head of the guard who had just insulted his mate.

His claws were cutting into the thickly calloused palms of his hands when Mrs. Lemp slipped silently in through the door, looking around as if she half expected to see her daughter hiding in a corner.

"Thank the Goddess you didn't try to take her."

"I'm trying my best to let this play out according to plan." he murmured, running a hand roughly through his hair, which he realized was more unkempt than it even had been that morning.

"Well hopefully now you'll be a bit more relaxed and able to think more clearly while we work out the details of our plan." Silas began pacing the room and she shook her head and sighed. "Or not. We're going to wait in here for a few more minutes. Lottie is out there purchasing dresses for both of us. The guards didn't get involved at all. A couple police officers came over and broke it up while the guards who were with Dahlia didn't falter for a moment from their posts. In fact one even came inside."

"I know. He spoke with me."

"Did he suspect that you were-"

"I don't think so." Silas interrupted the question. "He knew we had-" his voice trailed off. He knew that his mother-in-law obviously knew what had happened. She was a werewolf. She had keen senses. The scent of their lovemaking still covered him and filled the dressing rooms for anyone with a wolf's nose. But he didn't exactly want to discuss it with her.

"Oh don't be squeamish. I still want a grandbaby sooner rather than later." She waved her hand. "Although I would rather have my daughter rescued before you knock her up." Silas winced at her words. "Now as soon as those two leave the shop we'll leave this room. Lottie and I agreed that it would be best if you and Dahlia do not come face to face out in the open or you're both likely to give away exactly who you are to one another. One look and the whole entire world is likely to know it."

"I'm not an-"

"Every time you look at her, the way you love her is written across your face for the entire world to see. And it's the same when she looks at you. Neither of you can deny it. It's better if no one outside of our group sees it."

Shaking his head he slammed his body back down on the bench. It shuddered beneath him, barely able to hold his weight. It was meant to seat dainty ladies while they tried on dresses, not an enormous, muscular werewolf.
