Emily sighed as she walked beside you, the wheels of her luggage squeaking against the concrete, "What a day to wear heels, huh?" She nudged your shoulder.
You laughed as you looked down at both of your choices of shoes. She wore a black pair of shiny heels while you wore matte blue ones. The backs of her heels were starting to turn red, while a blister was starting to form on your pinky toe.
"You know what," you stopped walking and bent down. You slipped off your shoes and carried them in your free hand.
"I'm just about to do that myself," Emily chuckled, "Hotch, why are we in a mall?"
"I was just about to ask," Morgan mumbled.
Hotch cleared his throat, "The police station is centered in the mall," Reid opened his mouth, but Hotch kept talking, "We have no idea why they placed it here, they just did."
You muffled a laugh, getting a sideways glance from Reid. You smiled at him. He quickly turned back forward, with a stern look on his face but unable to hide the red flush spreading to his ears.
JJ shifted beside Reid as Morgan went on the other side of him. They talked silently, "Kid, you gotta get over it. I can already see where this will lead if you avoid it."
Reid shook his head, "No, Derek. Stop-"
"Hey Hotch!" Morgan gave a charming smile, "Reid is gonna get us coffee's, do you want anything?"
"Yeah, that actually sounds nice. Just black coffee Reid. Thank you,"
"Y/n, you should go with Reid!" JJ took out her phone, "Gotta get comfortable in the area, right? I'll text you everyone's order,"
You looked between JJ and Morgan, "Uh, okay,"
Morgan took your luggage and heels from you, "No worries if you don't like coffee; there are teas too," he smiled before pushing you towards Reid, who was shaking his head.
You heard a series of giggles as the rest of the team hurried away.
"Sorry about that, I have no idea what's wrong with them." Reid scratched the back of his neck, looking down at you.
You shook your head and laughed, "It's spontaneous. I like it, something not scripted, you know."
He nodded as he walked beside you, "Not scripted?" Reid asked curiously
"After being in the showbiz for so long, it starts to feel like everything is scripted: the movies, the interviews, the talk shows," you counted the things off on your fingers, "even the breakfast I ate in public was planned out," He looked at you, surprised, before quickly glancing away, "The only thing not scripted is the paparazzi."
"Most celebrities don't like the paparazzi."
"Oh, I don't either. During the peek of my career, they were really stalkerish." You shivered at the thought; one guy had previously broken into your house and stolen all of your shoes.. gross. Since then, you had moved, but it still freaked you out.
Reid clasped his hands in front of him, "I worked a case once. A female celebrity had a stalker who was her best friend."
You stopped walking, grabbing Reid's shoulder to halt him. His eyes widened as he turned to face you. "Are you kidding? Are you the guy Lila was seeing a couple of years back?"
Reid gave you an awkward smile, almost seeming to attempt to resemble Morgan, "A couple years back, yeah. How, uh- how do you know Lila?" He asked quickly
"We met at Julliard, but I transferred two years in to a local college. Since both of our breaks in fame we've kept in touch." You nudged Reid's shoulder as you kept walking, "Heard you're a great kisser, specifically in swimming pools."
