As Gunner and I were sitting together on the swinging bench in front of the house, just enjoying the time we had together. I had my eyes closed and when I opened them, I saw Michelle coming out of the house from across the street and looking at me with this evil looking stare. As soon as Michelle went back in, I tapped Gunner and after he opened his eyes, he looked at me.
"What is it baby?"
"I just saw Michelle across the street."
When Gunner and I looked across the street, we could already see my dad coming our way. And he did not look that happy. Gunner and I quickly got up and headed inside the house.
"HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN ARIZONA ALLY?!" my dad yelled
"Just keep going. Go to my room." Gunner whispered as we quickly went to his room. As Gunner and I came into his room, Gunner told me "Ally, get in the closet. You'll be safe here. I'll go and face your dad."
"What?! Gunner, he will kill you. Literally." I thought that Gunner was crazy for going to face my dad when my dad still hates Gunner.
"If I die, I die. If it means that you'll be safe then it's worth the risk."
We could hear my dad pounding on the door.
"ALLY CAMERON! GET YOUR DAMN UGLY ASS OUT OF THAT HOUSE AND HERE AT ONCE! BEFORE I GET MY GUN AND BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF!"
"Ally. I love you so much. If I get killed, I will alway be in your heart. I love you so much Allison Jennifer Cameron." Gunner gave me one more kiss before he closed the closet door and left the room. Knowing that Gunner was putting his life on the line for my safety from my dad was just so brave. He was never the kind of guy that would put his life in danger when there would be a 100% chance that something would kill him.
As I overheard my dad screaming at Gunner, I was able to quickly get his Legend of Zelda necklace and held it to my heart as I hoped and prayed that Gunner would be okay and that my dad would leave us alone.
There was a moment of silence. And then...the gunshot.
