These female spirits are known for producing piercing screams which can only be heard by other supernatural beings. Banshees seemingly have a supernatural connect to other Banshees. A Banshee will use her 'wail' to drown out all other sounds, allowing her to focus on the whispers from other Banshees being transmitted.
It is said that if you find a silver comb (which Banshees use to brush their long, flowing hair) lying on the ground, do not pick it up! Lest you meet a Banshee trying to retrieve her prized possession face to face - she may foretell your death.
