Chopin's "Raindrop" had appeared to play somewhere amongst the chaos.
The chaos of a love 'confession'.
A love 'confession' to me.
Why me, you ask?
That... I don't know.
I recall the vague memories of that afternoon.
The smell of lavender echoed the outdoors; a lovely, sweet-scented aroma.
It was calm.
Serene.
Subsiding into us was the peace of the spring breeze, lightly blowing upon my face.
Cherry blossom trees lined up the circumference of the play-field; petals falling slowly, as if in mid-motion.
I sat there.
On the roof, sighing deeply while staring into the vast sky.
I glimpsed down at my jean skirt; covered in yellow chalk dust.
The color of a pale yellow.
Perhaps, it was sulfur.
Truly, the dust spread out into the sunset; sitting upon the horizon of Yokohama City.
Buildings and houses alike made up the entire electricity usage of the entire city.
Not one house had forgotten to light a dim lamp for protection from thieves or perpetrators.
I was only ten years old during that time.
Just a meek, little thing.
Small.
Miniature.
I talked to others, yes.
But, only to the two that I had trusted.
Those two are...
Naoki and Takeru.
My only friends.
My best friends, to be exact.
We were different.
Unique.
Independent.
Spontaneous, yet...
We were all able to get along.
For as long as I could remember...
Naoki had always been the one to comfort me; make me laugh.
Until...
Everything changed.
