"oh ..." Kenzie says looking into his eyes with a little sadness. She darted her eyes to the ground quickly hiding her sadness and said "well, don't keep me in the dark! Who's the lucky girl?" trying to be (or at least seem) happy for him.

Johnny's POV
Am I really about to do this right now? Like out of all the days in the word, I have to confess right at this moment?

He took a deep breath

I guess I'm doing this

He looked into her beautiful brown eyes and grabbed both of her hands in his and whispered a soft "you"

It was so gentle and he seemed so calm but on the inside he was so scared and worried that he had just ruined a friendship that could've lasted a lifetime

Kenzie was so shocked and taken back that she couldn't do or say anything else but blush.

Johnny let go of her hand and cupped his around her face, gently rubbing her temple

               And she let him

"I really- like really like you and I have for a long time. I don't really know what this will do to our friendship or whatever we have and I knew that this would come out sooner or later since my feelings are getting stronger but in the end, I just don't wanna loose you ... I'm so sick of seeing you get heartbroken by these boys at all these parties who don't know anything about you and don't want you for the person that you truly are and not for what you have so please ... let's just try us out and if it doesn't work we could always-

Kenzie was just staring at him in awe
Admiring how much he really cared
She knew how flustered and how much John could ramble when he was nervous so she did the easiest thing she could do

    kissed him

He was taken back- like a lot at first but he slowly deepened it.

When they finally pulled apart he breathed a quick and soft
"I love you" not exactly knowing if it was the right thing to do but it felt right in the moment so he went for it.

"I love you too" she said.

Shortly after they fell asleep on the couch in each other grasp ever so peacefully
