your sweater

You and Spencer had always only looked like coworkers but you always knew you wanted more with him. You were never sure what his feelings for you were, whether it was just as coworkers or as possibly more. You were both fairly close even though you didn't have much in common.

"My water isn't working at home, I'm not sure where I'll stay." You say with a shrug.

"You can come stay with me, only if you want to though." Spencer pipes in.

"Sure! And of course I want to Spencer you are like my closest friend." You reply. You see Emily whispering to Penelope across the room and she looks back at you with a smirk. "I'm gonna go talk to Emily before the end of the day. See you later?" You ask.

"Of course, meet me by the elevator." Spencer says with a smile.

You walk over to them and say "What the hell are you two talking about?"

"We see you with Spencer over there." Emily teases.

"My water is broken so I'm staying with him tonight. That's all." You say rolling your eyes.

"I don't think that's all you'll be doing.." She says with a smirk.

"Shut up." You say playfully. "Well I have to go but I'll talk to you later." You say before going to meet Spencer at the elevator.

"Took you long enough" He jokes. You roll your eyes and you get into the elevator. As you are walking out to his car you think about what Emily said. She might be right but we are just coworkers. 

You get to his apartment and set your stuff down in the living room. "Hey Spence?" You ask.

"Yeah? What do you need?" He asks looking across the room at you.

"Have you ever watched the Harry Potter movies?" You ask curiously.

"No, why?"

"Because you totally should! They remind me of you and literally EVERYONE has watched them. Come on." You say plopping onto the couch. He sits right by you and turns the first movie on. You spend all afternoon watching the movies and platonically (or at least you think) cuddling. 

At about 2:00am : After a while you get tired so you ask Spencer "Where is your bathroom? Also is it ok if I use your shower?"

"In my room, the door is right by the closet, and yeah of course!" He says with a smile while pointing to his room.

"Ok thanks Spence." You say before walking to his closet, he is reading his book. You grab out one of his sweaters since its fairly cold and you didn't think he would mind. You quickly showered and while you were showering you heard Spencer's footsteps coming into his room then him sitting on his bed. 

After you finished showering and getting dressed you walked out and folded up your dirty clothes. You quickly walked out and set your clothes by your things. You knew Spencer was eyeing you but you paid no attention to it. When you walked back you leaned on the doorway looking at Spencer staring you up and down. "Y/n..." He says.

"Yeah..?" You ask slightly confused.

"Is that my sweater you have on?" He asks with a smile.

"Yeah. Uh- I didn't bring any clothes- and it's cold and I didn't think you would care, I can chan-" You ramble but you get cut off by Spencer, he got up from the bed and walked towards you. 

"It's ok Y/n. You look good in it." He says with a smile. "Where do you want to sleep tonight? You can take my bed, I can sleep on the couch. Or we could both sleep in the bed if you want.. It is very roomy." He rambles.

"Could we sleep in the bed- I'm kinda paranoid at night.." You say looking at the floor nervously.

"Of course, anything you want." He says with a smile. "Lovely" He says the last part quietly and a little hesitantly. Your eyes widen at the comment but you just shrug it off. 

You both get into bed, with quite a bit of space between you two. You are facing away from each other. You feel warm breath on your neck and the smell of coffee floating around. You feel a pair of arms wrap around you before you smile and fall asleep. 

In the morning Spencer wasn't in the bed so you assumed he just went to get ready. You got up to get ready and saw him in the living room, fully ready. "How long have you been up?" You asked concerned.

"It's 7:30 y/n. I wasn't going to leave without you." He says closing his book and handing you the clothes you wore yesterday. You rolled your eyes and went into the bathroom to quickly get into your clothes. Black trousers, a white button up shirt, and Spencer's sweater since it was cold and you didn't have anything for the weather. 

You grabbed your badge and said "Ok Spence I'm ready to go!" You both ran out of the door and he had a sort of smirk on his face but you couldn't tell why. You got odd looks from everyone and you still couldn't figure it out. Even during the briefing on the plane everyone stopped to look at you.

Emily asked, "Long night?" after a moment of silence.

After a while you couldn't take it, "What is it?! You guys are looking at me like I have another fucking head!" 

"Uh-" Emily pointed at your badge, "Y/n.. That is NOT your badge." You looked down at it and took it off quickly. It was Spencers. He had the biggest smirk on his face.

"Spencer! Give me my badge!" You said. He handed it back and rolled his eyes. 

"That's Spencer's sweater y/n.." Rossi laughs.

"I know. I did that on purpose." You said with a smile.

"Does pretty boy have a girlfriend?" Morgan teases.

"No! We are just good friends." You say slightly disappointed.

"Uh-huh.." Hotch says with a smirk.

You two knew what everyone thought but you were just good friends. For now. After the plane ride and taking some of the day for the case you and Spencer went back to the hotel. Spencer sat on the couch with a smile. "What's up with the smile Spence?" You asked curiously.

"So.. I was wondering, if maybe we could go on a date sometime." He said quietly.

"Oh my god, of course Spencer!" You said with a smile. The rest of the night you two had just watched a movie and ROMANTICALLY cuddled. It was literally a dream come true. And now you even had a sweater that could remind you of your favorite moment and person in the world.
