Just a random memory had flashed in my mind, while I was sitting on my bed checking my phone if someone messaged me.

Back when I was 15 years old, still living in Pasig, our Barangay had a volleyball training program for youth. Of course, I joined "feeling magaling ako eh" LOL! So, we lived in a "squatters' area" (as they call it.) I had friends there, like normal teenagers.

Going back, a lot of youths registered for the program. Youths from different streets of our Barangay. There are rich, not so rich or we call it "may kaya", and the poor (us LOL).

Training started, we were trained by one of our Barangay's volleyball players. Fast-forward, there was this girl that had a very different technique when serving. She's so pretty, her skin is white, she looks like a porcelain doll to me.

Meanwhile, while she was practicing serving the ball, I and my friends watched and talked about her. When I say, "we talked about her" I mean it negatively. Some of us were saying,

"I-spike nya ba yan?"

"Bakit ganyan sya mag-serve?"

"Nye! Ganun lang pala service, kung pumorma akala mo malakas na spike"

How can we say those things? Because she posed like she was gonna do the overhand service but only to know that she will do an underhand one. We laughed at her as soon as we saw how she did it. And from then, we bashed her even if she did not do anything to us. She did not even know our names.

When this memory flashed in my mind, I realized something.

I was so mean back then. I bashed a person, based on what I just saw. I realized that my attitude was so "squammy". I said bad things about a person that I don't know personally. And even if I knew her personally, I don't have any right to bash her. Why? Because I, myself is not perfect.

I don't want this to be just a realization. I want to apply it to myself. I want to change this attitude that I have for a long time. This is not good, we know that. We don't want to be bashed, so let us not do it to others. Just like the golden rule.
