Di jab se dastak tumne zindagi ke darwaze pe,
Jab dekhu tumhe apne kareeb,
Noor bhar jaata absaaro main,
Betaab ho jaate nain mere,
Na ho jis din deedar tumhara,
Shahed shireen lagti awaaz tumhari,
Khushi ke ras ghole mere kaano main,
Khil jaata rang mere ruksaar par,
Jab kehte tum kisse-fasaneh hamari mohabbat ke,
Dilbar mere, kya koi saahir ho tum?
Jaadu kiya tumne apne ishq ka,
Tumhari rehnumayi lab pe laati muskaan mere,
Bhar di be-jaan si zindagi main jaan,
Pau tumhe saanso se bhi zyada nazdik,
Sochu tumhe har soch se zyada,
Ho har sahar tumhari maujudgi bhari,
Chahiye khaalis mohabbat sanam tumhari,
Ho agar saath tumhara is raah par,
Rote-haste seh lenge har khalish.

When I’m unable to witness you Your sweet merry melodious voice
Soothes smoothly my ears, stirring happiness My cheeks taint and beautifully blush
When our divine love story you discuss My darling, are you a mere illusion?
Your love is a mysterious, magic blind-fold Your guidance makes my lips slightly curve
You’ve brought spring to my autumn looking life Reaching closer to me than my own breath
My thoughts are nothing else but you, only you Your pure, unshared love is all I require
'Cause if you’re with me on this dangerous way
I’ll tolerate patiently each happiness and dismay
