Standing from my window, little snowflakes fall from the sky like feathers swaying down to Earth. I pull a blanket over my head, protecting myself from the cold. It's so calm from my window. There's no noise or panic from my window. It's just quite and soft. But that one moment when you lay a foot on the outside world, the power of cruelty blast in you face. You're no longer human.
I step back from my window and walk over to my laptop that sits on my couch. I slowly sit down and open my MacBook. The black screen lights up with the background of Elvira and I at Camp Arch. It was a school field trip for our freash an year. We stood in front of the Arch Lake. Her hand was holding my shoulder while my hand rest on her hip. I smiled at the camera as Elvira scrunched her nose and stuck out her tongue. Weird but wonderful.
I click the Safari icon and type in "Facebook". It takes several seconds to load, but then the blue strip with white words appears. The first post hat pops up is a picture a my aunts dog, Winner. My aunt loves him more an she loves herself. Always posting pictures of the small labrador I press the notification button.
