Way of the Wolf

Chapter 1

Sitting in the Bear Valley Diner Elena and Clay were enjoying a meal when a teenage girl with long mahogany hair and melted milk chocolate eyes and her father entered the diner, the girl was on the phone and said something as she passed the two that made them freeze.

"Are you sure that it was a mutt?" The girl asked into the phone quietly.

Clay and Elena tuned their hearing so that they could hear both sides of the conversation.

"Yeah he was newly turned." The male voice on the other end of the line stated and the girl sighed as she and her father sat at a table near Clay and Elena.

"Ok let me know what else you find." The girl said. "But I'll call back later. I just entered the diner."

"Ok I'll call back in an hour." The voice said before hanging up.

Clay and Elena looked at each other, giving the other a slight nod, Elena brought out her phone and dialed Jeremy's number while Clay kept an eye on the girl and her father.

"What's wrong Elena?" Jeremy asked from the other end of the phone.

"There's a girl here that knows we exist, she's here with her father." Elena stated

A sigh rang through the phone.

"Bring them both in. We'll question the girl." Jeremy said before hanging up.

Elena sighed but put her phone away and waited for the two to get done.

The girl looked at her father for a moment before speaking.

"Dad are you done?" She asked before scratching her nose twice.

"Yeah." He said with a nod before they both stood up.

The guy put money on the table that was enough for the bill plus tips. They walked out of the dinner and started towards their car which was around the corner past an alleyway. Clay and Elena followed them and once they reached the alley Clay quickly knocked out the girls dad while Elena was fighting the girl. Clay came up behind her and put a cloth over her nose and mouth making her pass out; catching the girl Clay brought her to his Jeep while Elena brought the dad securing them in the back before hastily making their way to Stonehaven.

Elena's POV.

I sighed as we pulled into the driveway of Stonehaven, I looked at Clay.

"Are we really going to interrogate a human teenage girl?" I asked because I don't even want to know how they will make her talk if she doesn't want to cooperate.

"Sadly yes, we need to know how she knows that we exist." Clay said and I sighed as Nick and Jeremy came out outside to bring in the girl and her father.

Nick and Clay brought the girl and her father into the basement, Nick put the girl in the cage after I grabbed her phone and Clay tied her father to a chair that Jeremy brought down. I sighed as we waited for the daughter to wake up.

It's been almost an hour of waiting when we heard a slight chuckle.

"Well isn't this cozy." The girl stated before sitting up in the bed that was in there.

We all turned towards her with eyebrows raised and one question in mind. Why wasn't she afraid? Why did she seem so comfortable in the cage in an unknown place?

"What's your name?" Clay asked, stepping towards the cage.

The girl smirked before looking around the basement.
