He had passed out but when he awoke, he was once again met with the pain of his injuries.
What hurt the most was his leg... He still didn't even know the name of his savior.
He wanted to ask but he remembered he had told him not to talk due to his condition.
He was too weak to take into consideration about the fact that this flaming cookie could fly.
They'd been flying for a while... I wonder where we're going... He thought. He shrugged off the thought, opening his eyes to look around.
The flaming cookie who held him in his arms glanced down at him with a smile. “Good morning, sleepy head.” He said.
He blinked a few times, opening his mouth to speak but stopped.
The cookie raised a brow. “Got something to say?”
He nodded, to which the cookie sighed. “I suppose you could talk just... Keep a quiet voice.”
“Wh..at's your...” He took a moment to cough slightly. “Name..?”
The cookie seemed to think for a moment. “I guess I should tell ya since it seems we might be stuck with each other for a bit...” He sighed. “I'm Fire Spirit.”
He smiled softly. “Thank you.. Fire Spirit, for saving me...”
Fire Spirit shrugged. “Eh. Whatever. Didn't look like anyone else was alive anyway.”
This made him frown. Was he really the only survivor?
“I told you my name... What's yours?” Fire Spirit asked. He didn't look at him as he spoke, trying to concentrate on where he was flying.
“Knight Cookie. I'm Knight Cookie.” He said. He then paused for a moment. “I owe you my life, Fire Spirit.”
Fire Spirit stopped to think for a moment, then smirked slightly. “Your life, eh? Does that mean you'll stay with me?”
He nodded. “The least.. I can do is protect you.”
Fire Spirit gave a hearty laugh. “I don't need protection but thanks.”
He started spacing out, staring up at Fire Spirit... This cookie had saved his life, even though he didn't have to.
Fire Spirit looked a little uncomfortable with him staring at him. “Uh... You're staring, Knight.” He muttered.
He blinked, eyes widening slightly. “O-Oh, sorry...” He muttered, looking away as his face flushed red with embarrassment.
Fire Spirit chuckled. “It's alright, don't worry. I know I'm pretty amazing.”
He rolled his eyes, smiling slightly.
There was silence between the two for a while before Fire Spirit finally spoke. “We should set up camp for the night, sun's setting.”
He realized it was getting late. He slowly nodded in agreement.
Fire Spirit carefully swooped down to a clear spot in the forest below. He landed on the ground and set him down gently up against a small boulder. “Wait here, I'm gonna go get some stuff for a fire.”
He looked a little confused but nodded. “Alright..”
As Fire Spirit walked off to get some twigs and sticks, he took off his helmet. He shook out his long golden hair, sighed softly. He looked at his legs, noticing how his right looked a little crooked. He winced slightly, realizing it must be broken. “Great...” He sighed. He gently slipped off his armor so he could get a better look at his leg. Indeed, it was broken. His tunic was slightly torn in some places where his armor was broken.
Fire Spirit came back with an arm full of sticks and twigs. He set them down in a way for a neat little fire. He lit a small fireball in his hand and lit the fire. He looked at him, blinking a few times.
He looked at Fire Spirit, raising a brow. “Everything alright?” He asked.
Fire Spirit shook his head, looking away. “Yeah. I just wasn't expecting your hair to be that long.” He muttered.
He laughed slightly. “Ah, I see.” He said, attention drawn back to his broken leg.
Fire Spirit looked back at him, frowning slightly. “Your leg broken..?”
He nodded. “Yeah...” He muttered.
Fire Spirit walked over to him. “I can snap it back into place... But it might hurt. A lot.” He said.
He sighed. “Do it. I don't want it to heal wrong.”
Fire Spirit nodded, crouching down next to him as he put his hands on his leg. “Brace yourself.” He said before he snapped his leg back into place.
He cried out in pain, shutting his eyes as he tightly clenched his teeth.
Fire Spirit sighed, rolling his eyes. “I told you to brace yourself.”
He opened his eyes, glaring at Fire Spirit slightly. “Yeah but it still hurt!!” He snapped
Fire Spirit looked away. “Eh.”
He frowned slightly, realizing he had snapped. “Forgive me, I didn't mean to snap at you.”
Fire Spirit shrugged. “It's no biggy... Here.” He said as he unhooked his cloak and wrapped it around his leg as a makeshift cast.
He blinked a few times, then smiled. “Thank you, Fire Spirit.”
“Don't mention it!” Fire Spirit said with a smile. He sat down next to him, crossing his arms slightly as he stared at the fire.
He didn't realize it at first but he leaned slightly into the flaming cookie.
Fire Spirit blinked, looking at him. He was a little surprised. “Heh... You should rest, Knight.”
“Mm... I'll try.” He muttered.
Fire Spirit gently wrapped an arm around him. “Good night.” He said softly.
He smiled slightly, closing his eyes. “Good night...” He said.
It didn't take him long to fall asleep.
