The next morning comes by and this was going to be a dreadful day. Not only did she get detention, but she has to spend 2 hours with Harry Potter.

She decides to sleep in 30 minutes after her alarm, hoping that McGonagall will forget her punishment that is shared with the boy. Praying to the powerful wizards that this will be quick.

Florence tosses and turns in her bed, contemplating when she should get up. She eventually huffs and gets up out of her bed. She turns on the water and lets the shower run as she gets her clothes out and ready. She gets out of the shower, puts her clothes on, and puts a scarf wrapped around her head since she can't brush it neatly, already being 54 minutes late to breakfast.

She rushes to the Great Hall and sits next to Meredith and two other Slytherin students, Marnie Lynn and Constance Marquez.

"Flo, why did you come late? We were worried you might have decided not to come to classes today," Meredith spoke.

"I was gonna come eventually but I'm just, I don't know, nervous?" Florence said as she shrugged her shoulders.

"About what, exactly?" Marnie asks.

"Being with Potter, after school, for 2 longing hours," Florence spoke out with dread.

"Oh cheer up kid. It's only like what? A week? You'll be fine. Just ignore him and move swiftly along the 14 days," Constance said, trying her best to somewhat cheer up Florence.

"You don't understand. I can't even walk near him, let alone be in a room with him for 120 minutes." "He's just so-"

"Harry Potter and Florence Lupin, walk up to the front please." Florence looked over to see who interrupted her ranting for it to only be McGonagall. She looks across her table to see Harry looking in the same direction as she was seconds before. He waves off his friends and gets up to walk upfront. Seeing this, Florence immediately gets up and speed walks to the tables ahead.

"As you two know, today is the first day of your detention. You two will be in the library helping Madam Pince. She'll give you further instructions on exactly what you're doing when you get there. Now you two can go on and continue your breakfast," McGonagall declared.

Harry gave Florence a quick glance and headed back to his table. Florence did the same but watch him walk back and he never looked back at her.

"Hello?" Florence said while poking her head into the library corridors.

She decided to stroll the library walkways, looking into each of them hoping that she'll see Madam Pince or even Harry.

"This quiet library is awfully quite eerie," she thought to herself.

Aligning with the 4th to the last row, she met with Harry, who was awkwardly leaning sideways onto the desk. One hand in his pant pocket, the other quietly tapping said desk. She walks up quietly but noticeably. He looks up and fixes his posture. He clears his throat as he brings to say,

"So, have you seen Pince?"

"No, I figured you would've seen her before me," She guessed as she awkwardly fixed her backpack strap.

"Well-" Harry was interrupted as the librarian finally came into the library.

She waltzed into the row Florence and Harry was in and greeted them with a warm smile.

"Hello! So I've heard why you guys are in with me today. Quite a dilemma eh?" Madam Pince articulated.

"So! Today we're, or you two, going to fix the leftover books onto the shelves and fix chairs into place and just, you know, tidy the place up for tomorrow!" Pince exclaimed.

"Welp, you two, get to work now," she clapped her hands and shooed the two kids to begin their work.

About an hour and 55 minutes go by. Harry sitting and looking slumped on the ground as he leans against the library desks. Florence sits on top of the desk across from Harry.

"Hard work we did to today innit?" Florence communicated with Harry to avoid the long silence.

"Uh. Yeah, I guess," Harry muttered while looking down at the hands that sat in his lap.

Florence saw the way he was acting and decided to try to "loosen" up a bit.

She sighed and began to say, "Hey, I still don't like you and all but you know, 14 days is a long while so we might as well be...acquaintances?" she hesitated.

Harry then stands up on his feet and walks up to Florence. About 5 inches from her face, he straightens his back out and puts his hand out. Florence raised an eyebrow as she looked at his hand in confusion.

"What's this?" she asked

"It's a form of greeting. Shake my hand. Please?" Harry reassured.

Florence gave in and shook his hand hesitantly.

"See? Wasn't that bad."

"Sure whatever. So.. what does this mean? We're good now or...?" Florence faltered while tilting her head slightly.

"Hell no. We are just..co-workers. You know, for detention and ONLY detention," Harry defended.

"Phew. I was about to say," Florence jokingly wiped the fake sweat off her forehead. Harry then jabbed her shoulder and mocked her sentence.

Loud giggles traced the quiet library, resulting in Madam Pince walking up to the two.

"Are you two finished with your tasks?" Pince asked, looking up and down at how close Florence and Harry were to each other.

Noticing this, Harry quickly took a step back and straightened his sweater vest while Florence jumped off the desks and straightened her skirt. Now they were standing next to each other.

"Uh yes. Yes, we finished everything, Madam." Florence assured while glancing at Harry. Harry quickly looked down at his feet and then nodded at Florence's answer.

"Alrighty then. I guess you are free to go then. I'll let Professor McGonagall know about your amazing work today!" Pince beamed.

"Um, Madam? Will we be here every day?" Harry questioned.

"I am not sure but all I know is that'll you'll be back here soon," Madam Pince smiled.

Harry raised an eyebrow and looked at Florence to see if she understood what Madam had said.

"Oh. Uh okay. Thank you Madam Pince!" Florence quickly said while pulling Harry's arm and rushing out the library doors.

it took about 15 minutes for them to reach their dormitories.

It was a quiet yet interesting and calming conversation while walking in the halls.

Florence learned a little more about Harry and so did he. As much as they didn't talk during the walk back, it was a nice feeling to not have bad energy circling around them.

Maybe they could end up being friends.

Maybe having a detention buddy that was my "sworn" enemy...
