Today was my first day in the Federation and so far it has been uneventful. I was supposed to be given an assignment but the man in charge of that was out on his very own mission so I now have to wait. The other soldiers around were training and I was bored so I went and found a gun range. When I got there I saw a man in a green sleeveless shirt and bandanna firing off a .425 ACP, deciding I didn't wanna get shot I waited until he was reloading before calling to him. Once I did he turned around and asked if I wanted to join to which I gladly accepted! I had the feeling that I knew this man from somewhere. After three hours of shooting, I got hungry and figured it would be nice to see if he would like to join me for a late lunch. His reply was short but kind as we headed out to get food.
On the way to get food, I noticed few people dared to even look at him which added to my confusion about this man. It wasn't till he had sat down that a few other soldiers asked how I could possibly be on Gabriel T. Rorke's good side already. After they said his name I realized why I had the feeling that I knew him. I decided to ignore them and just went to enjoy lunch with my exnext-door neighbor. Rorke must have realized something in my demeanor was different because he asked what was wrong. Nothing I replied, it's just I hadn't realized that my ex-neighbor and I were both working to destroy what we once helped protect.
He gave me his best-confused face whilst trying to not laugh. See him and I were both in a group called the GHOST and were neighbors for some odd years. That changed when another member dropped Rorke. When that event took place we lost Rorke, and sometime after I left the group to come to try to join the federation. Now after seven years I have joined the federation and gained Rorke again. We sat and talked until it got dark, that is when he asked me to follow him to a place with more privacy. With no hesitation, I agreed because I knew he would never hurt me without a good reason. We walked for a solid hour before we reached a riverbank to sit and chat. We ended up staying all night just talking and enjoying memories.
