I'm sure that once in life, someone somewhere has read a book. And I'm almost positive that there was the ever-present love triangle in said book. When I read love triangles, I laugh. How is it so hard to choose between two guys, to break hearts? Well now I know. I never thought that I would be the girl caught in the middle of a love triangle, stuck in a doomed relationship. And you know what? It's hard. I can't choose. One or the other, or maybe neither. These choices run through my head, captivating my every thought. I am literally consumed by my choices and the decision that only I can make.

I guess it started in the beginning of freshman year. Before starting school, I vowed that everything would change. Instead of being the shy, quiet nerd girl, I would become a confident, popular girl dedicated to school. But when I made that promise, I never realized that changing me would change who my friends were and who I associated myself with. I never realized how a minuscule change can rock the world that I live in. I honestly have no clue who I am now. But, freshman year. The beginning of high school, a new chapter in life. Me, being the perfect student, was never the most popular girl, but I had my share of friends. A great family, great grades, great life. Great was never enough for me. I wanted to be extraordinary. I wanted to rule the world, so to speak.

As time moved on, I became a different person. No longer was I shy or average. I could flirt with any guy and make them fall for me without blinking my eyes. I left a string of broken hearts, as I was never the one to have long lasting relationships. My motto through life was love 'em and leave 'em. I could fake my feelings, fake my actions in order to get what I wanted. And my flirting got me into this disastrous mess. It didn't matter to me who I flirted with, as long as they were male and semi-attractive.

Back to the present. Junior year. Everyone in the school knew of my reputation. The girl with the highest grades who had left trails of broken hearts. I was the perfect combination of looks, attitude, and brains. I loved the first day of school, honestly I did. There was always at least one new student who hadn't heard of me. This year was no different. I walked into school with my two best friends, Rose and Emily. I've been to hell and back with Rose and Emily. They are the only two friends from my former life that stayed with me. Even if they doubted me, the two of them stayed by my side. Katerina, Rose, and Emily. The three queens of Holmes Prep.

Stepping out of my black Mustang, I watched as heads turned to see my arrival. Dressed in designer jeans, the perfect flirting top- not too slutty, not too covered, and my favorite red heels, I looked every bit the heart breaker that I was. I crossed the parking lot with a smirk on my face, Rose and Emily just a step behind me. I felt all of the students gaze on my back, and heard the whispers.

"Whoa. Ice Queen's back"

"What a slut"

"Nice! Look at her!"

One comment stood out among the rest.

"Who is she?"

Automatically, I knew it was a new student. Everybody knew me. I turned to Rose and Emily, whispering, "Got a new target girls. Check him out?"

They nodded, Emily whispering, "Shall we go welcome him to Holmes Prep?", with a sly grin on her face. If I was the school's heartbreaker, Emily was the prankster, while Rose was the shy nerd girl.

"Girls. Let's be nice to the new kid on his first day,"

"Oh Rose," I replied, "Live a little."

Sighing, she walked away, going to see her boyfriend of two years, Jan. They were perfect for each other, never fighting and obviously in love. I was slightly envious sometimes, of the love the two shared. I turned to Emily, but she was running to her boyfriend, Travis. If Rose and Jan were the perfect couple, Emily and Travis were out-of-this-world. Although the two had only been together for three months, I could tell by the way that they treated each other that they were a match made in heaven.

With my head held high, I walked over to the new kid, swinging my hips a little more than necessary. "I'd like to personally welcome you to Holmes Prep. My name's Katerina. And you are?"

"Jacob." He replied keeping his answer brief. I checked him out. Blond hair, snapback. Muscular, and I thought I could see the shadow of a tattoo on his left bicep.

"Well, it's very nice to meet you. If you need anything at all, just ask for Katerina."

"Will do. See you later I guess."

Normally, guys fell at my feet when I looked at them. Jacob would be interesting. It's okay though, because I love a challenge.

I walked off to class as the bell rang, hearing my red heels click along the tiled floor of the prep school.

Hear I come, I thought. Get ready for me to bring this school to its knees.
