I cleared my throat and said " um- I- um- I'm- I'm sorry"

"Why are you here" I asked.

Elizabeth came and sat in the chair in front of me "to talk business" she said

I was in the elevator heading down when a woman at the back of the elevator spoke.

"You need to stay away from my man, and this is just a warning" I snapped my head around to see if she's actually speaking to me although I'm the only one in here, well apart from her too.

"Excuse me" I ask in disbelief.

"Bitch you heard what I said and I won't fucking repeat" she spat

I laughed and she looks taken aback " you must be mistaken because I sure as hell do not know who the fuck is 'your man' " I said using the air quote and turned back around

"You lying bitch, you were just coming from his office"

And then it hit me Ezra is her man. No shit Sherlock, I rolled my eyes at myself at the time I decide to talk to myself.

"Listen honey, and listen to me good" I said while turning around to face her again.

"I don't know if you fall off the bed when you were a baby or buck your toe on a rock and fell but when do you ever see a married man leaving his wife for a just come bitch? It never happens honey, so I suggest you leave Ezra alone and find a man that will be able to give you a future, who will actually love you" I said

"And you think that he will leave his wife for you, love you" she scoffs and roll her eyes.

"Ohhh honey, I've been married to Ezra and also gave him a son, I already had him, you and Amy just collected my sloppy seconds don't be upset just because I have what you don't" I said and same time the elevator door opened to my stop and I exit but she stopped me in my tracks when she asked me a question.

"And what's that, what's the thing that you have that I don't have?"

"His heart" I said and same time the elevator door closes.

So it's only 378 words so it's Super short but I just realized that the book is going too slow so I want to start the plot
