"Genesis, I hope you're awake!" My mom yelled, from downstairs. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, before grabbing my phone and checking the time. Today is going to be my first day at Beverly High, seeing as my family and I just moved back here from Atlanta. I lived in Beverly Hills, but we moved when I was around 8 years old. Now, we are back. I got up and walked into my bathroom, turning on the water so it could heat up. Afterwards, I walked back out to my closet, so I could find something to wear. "Do I even care enough?" I sighed, looking through my clothes. I grabbed a grey dress and a cream, grey and brown, checkered jacket and put it on my bed.
Walking back into my bathroom, I closed the door behind me, getting undressed and hopping straight into the steaming water. 20 minutes later, I got out of the shower. I put lotion on my body before putting on my undergarments and the dress. I went back in my bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. I put on my jewelry and walk to my vanity, and start doing my makeup. After I put on my lipgloss, I got up, walking back into my closet and grabbing my off white sail Jordan 4's. I put on some white socks before putting on my shoes. I grabbed my backpack, my phone and my AirPods.
"Who you trying to look cute for, little girl?" My dad asked when I walked downstairs. "That's my daughter." My mom said, feeding my little brother as he sat in his high chair. "Nobody dad." I said, laughing. "It better not be that little Baker boy." He said. "I haven't talked or seen Jordan in 8 years." I shrugged.
"Mhmm, have a good first day at your new school." He said, kissing my forehead before kissing Jeremiah's and my mother. I grabbed my plate of breakfast which consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage and two pancakes. "Thank you Ma." I said, sitting down at the table to eat. "Mhmm. Hurry up and eat so I can take you to school and drop Jeremiah off at daycare."
I ate quickly, before putting my plate in the sink. I put my backpack over my shoulders before grabbing Jeremiah and walking him to the car. I strapped him into his car seat, before getting in the passenger seat myself, putting on my seatbelt. After a quick 10 minute drive, we arrived at the school.
"Have a good day, sweetie. I'll be here to pick you up at 3:00." I smiled, before getting out of the car and closing it. I walked into the school, being met with a bunch of students hanging out by the lockers, talking. I kept walking down the "hallway", soon realizing that I didn't even know where I was going.
If it's the front office, it should be at the front of the school. I thought. I kept walking until I finally found it. By now, the hallways were empty, as everyone had went to class. After getting my ID and making my schedule (which took the first 2 class periods), I left the office, hoping to find my 3rd class of the day.
Walking into class, I found a seat closer to the back of the class. I was scrolling through my Instagram, before looking up to see who were coming into the classroom. When I did, I saw a boy and a girl arguing quietly, followed by another boy.
One of them to walk towards the seat in front of mine. The other boy, followed him with his eyes, before looking behind the boy, straight at me. When we made eye contact, I felt my cheeks start to heat up so I looked back down at my phone.
"We'll talk about this later." I heard the curly haired girl said, before walking towards her seat which happened to be right next to the other seated boy. "Hey, do I know you from somewhere?" The curly haired girl asked. "I lived out here when I was younger, I just moved back."
" Oh, well it's nice to meet you, I'm Olivia."
"Olivia Baker?" I asked, causing her to look at me confused. "It's Genesis."
