The morning light blistered through the blinds. It felt like shattered glass in Dream's eyes. Although he was excited that his little sister was coming over for the first time in ages, he couldn't stop thinking about George's words in their conversation from the day before. They pierced his heart and lingered in his mind.

"I can't just be your pawn Clay."

He couldn't seem to get it out of his head. "Think about whether or not it's worth it for you."
Was it worth it? Surely it was. His life without George in it was a nightmare. Dream loved George, he was his best friend for the longest time. Did he ruin that? Did he ruin everything they worked for? So many emotions were running through his mind at that very second. Why must he ruin everything. Nothing ever seemed to work out for him. Everyone seemed to leave him in the end.

Dream held his breath and hid under the sheets. He didn't want to get out of bed. He didn't want to move. He thought, maybe, just maybe he could hide there forever. No one would miss him, right? No. He couldn't. He knew that he couldn't, but yet it was so tempting. He thought about running away with Patches, changing his name, and going somewhere that no one would find him. But then he thought about his family, his fans, Sapnap, even George, and knew that no matter how tempting it was .. everything he knew and loved was there for him. And although he didn't believe that he deserved any of it, he couldn't just leave it all behind.

He curled up underneath his sheets and grabbed his phone. "What time is it?" he asked himself. Time had faded from him at this point. He never knew what time it was anymore, what day. It all flew by so fast, it was too hard to keep up with. As he turned his phone on, the light, once again blinded him. The pixels on the screen were hard to read at first, but the phone said one, and he was shocked. His sister would be there in an hour, none less, and he barely had any time to get ready. It was hard for him to get out of bed these days, but nonetheless, he did.

The clock was ticking before his mother and sister arrived and he was a mess. His blonde hair stood in the air, and the dark circles under his eyes stayed unmoving. Dream decided the best he could do was clean up a little in the living room, maybe vacuum, and make up a bed in one of the spare rooms for Drista. He also had to decide what he would wear to make his mom think his life wasn't completely falling apart around him.

As he was getting the house somewhat presentable, he heard a quiet ding come from the other room. Someone had texted him. He walked into his bedroom, where he left his phone and turned it on to see a text from Drista.

"Hey, we decided to come early. We're ten minutes away."

"Shit." Dream mumbled.

"Alright, see you in ten."

The house wasn't nearly ready. Dream wasn't even dressed. He hurriedly threw on a pair of joggers and a grey t-shirt. He then continued to clean up the rest of the trash in his bedroom and the living room as best as he could. He walked into the room Drista would be sleeping in and threw on some new sheets, as well as a spare comforter that he kept in the closet for when someone stayed over. He wasn't sure why he put off everything until last minute, but then remembered: last night, George, the lack of motivation to do anything, everything.

The ten minutes passed like seconds and before he knew it he heard three loud knocks on the front door. "Clay open the door, it's hot out here." Drista's voice came from behind it.

"I'll be there in a second." Dream said as he picked up the last water bottle and can of soda from the floor. He ran over to the door and unlocked it.

"Took you long enough." Drista scorned with a sarcastic tone. "Mom's waiting in the car. She said it was too hot outside and didn't want to leave the air conditioning."
