Home. A small cottage in the country side. Luscious green grass with beautiful rainbow drop flowers surrounded the house. A dirty path leading up to the wooden front door and once we opened the door I saw the familiar living room. With a cream sofa opposite the red brick fireplace, a soft red rug underneath the sofa. A red and cream chequered curtains and a few painting hanging on the wall. On the right was the kitchen with a light wood table and counters. On top of the table dangling from the ceiling was green vines sending off a nature feel. Upstairs were three bedrooms.

I've missed home so much. I rush upstairs to my bedroom and dropped my bags on the floor and let Midnight free from the cage onto bed. My room has dark brown plank walls and the ceiling has a slant. I have a light purple rug to add some colour into my dark room. Opposite my bed I have a bookshelf filled with many books. I love reading. Must of taken that from mother.

Few hours went by and I was sitting on the sofa doing some homework Professor Snape assigned us this holiday. The door flung open and in came my father. I jumped up smiling and rushed to give him a hug. He was a bit surprised when I jumped onto him making his body move a bit backwards.

"Y/n, lovely to have you home" he said with a nervous smile looking towards my mother.

"Nice to be back, father" I said trying to brush it off.

"How was work dear" mother quickly interrupted us.

"Tiring, the ministry had trouble with some thugs. Been up all night trying to find these wizards". He moaned falling down on the sofa. I sat down next to him to carry on with my homework.

What ingredients are used to make a boil cure potion?

•Dried nettles
•6 snake fangs
•4 horned slugs
•Pungous onions
•Flobberworm mucus
• Porcupine quills

"Ginger root and shake spines" father said while watching me write. I smiled and thanked him.

Next question, what will happen if the cauldron is still on the fire when the porcupine quills is added? I sat there confused. Potions wasn't my best subject.

"The cauldron would melt and create a horrid odour" my father said starring at my mother.

"It only happened that one time" mother said laughing.

My mother and father met at Hogwarts and were best friends during their time there. Until father charmed the candles in her dorm to float and had romantic music playing in the background. He asked her to be his girlfriend that night. After that my mother and father were irresistible for each other. I always hoped that one day I will fall in love with my best friend and live happily together like my parents.

Once I finished my homework, dinner was already on the table. We all sat down and my brothers as usual were fighting over the food. My brothers are twins, so they constantly fight over everything. Like who was the smarter one, who was the older one, who was the handsome one and who was the favourite one.

"Mother so are we going to the Christmas ball?" I asked curiously.

"Ball?" My dad snapped his head to my mother.

"Mr and Mrs Malfoy have invited us to their Christmas ball. I said we would be delighted but we don't have to go. They probably won't even notice if we don't show up" mother said while looking down eating her food.

"No we must go" father said while doing the same thing. Mothers head shot up, face baffled. "If we don't I won't hear the end of it from Mr Malfoy" he said acting a bit annoyed from the thought. So father and Mr Malfoy work on the ministry of Magic together. Makes sense.

"We need to hide her" a deep echoing voice panicked.

"We have no choice" another voice echoed. All of a sudden loads of screams surrounded me. I felt trapped not being able to move or speak.

"Y/n". A more clear voice spoke. "Y/N!"

I shot up from my bed, feeling the sweat dripping off my face and my breathing felt heavy. I saw my mother next to my bed looking worried.

"Breathe slowly darling, in and out" I did so.

"What happened?" I asked slowly still trying to get my breathing steady.

"I heard you scream. You must of had a nightmare. Don't worry you are safe" she said bringing me into her arms.

I turn my face towards the window and watched the sky turn into a warm yellow.

An hour later I headed downstairs for some breakfast. The second I picked up my spoon, I hear my brothers rushing down the stairs like a herd of elephants arguing with each other.

"Someone looks dreadful" James smirked placing himself in the seat opposite me. As did Charlie.

"Shut it" I spat looking in his big brown eyes. He giggled knowing he got under my skin.

"Sit down boys and eat your breakfast" father said. "I'm off to work dear" giving my mother a kiss then smiling at us. "Make sure you buy me a nice suit" placing his hands on my shoulders giving me a kiss in the head. He waved his hands to the boys and left.

"A suit?" I questioned.

"For the ball my dear. We will also be buying you a dress" she sat down at the table. "And as for you two" she snapped her head to the boys. "You will be going to grandma's". They moaned but nodded.

Rolling my eyes I thought to myself this is going to be fun.

A/n - hope you enjoyed this page. Was going to make it longer but thought I put buying the dress and the ball on the same page.
