Angela was requested in Morrison's office. She was terrified she did something wrong without being there for more than a day. She knocked on his office door and waited for a response. "Enter." A voice called from the room. Angela opened the door and entered, closing the door after herself. "You're not in trouble. I just want to make yesterday you to you." She smiled. "You don't have to do that." He shook his head. "I don't have to but I want to. Tell me about yourself." She wasn't expecting that. He put a hand out as a way to tell her to sit but she politely denied. "Hm... well my parents were medics and that's why I am here today. I worked everyday since losing them, and breaks don't work. I want to achieve their dream. Help as many people as fast and productively as humanly possible." He looked worried after hearing this. "I'm sorry about your losses." She sighed. "It happened years ago. There is no need to apologize." He nodded, showing he understood but still felt bad about this. "How about you? What was your past like?" He tapped his arms, showing himself he needed to focus and tell her. "I was raised on a farm in Indiana, livestock, crops, whatever. I wanted to be a soldier, the agriculture life wasn't the one for me. So once I turned eighteen, I went off and joined once the omnic crisis started to arise. You may have heard of the 'special enhancement program' for soldiers. I was proved worthy and was given tests and met Reyes there. We decided the world needed someone to look up to, so we made Overwatch." He wasn't going to mention his former lover. That memory was rough. "Is there any health issues I should know?" She asked and he shook his head. "If anything else happens from that enhancement, I'll make sure to let you know." She nodded and smiled a small bit. "It's nice to know I am trusted, even as a new medic." A silence feel between them. "If there's anything you need, ever, do not be afraid to ask. I- we want to make sure you're satisfied with your time here. We want you here and we want you to be happy with us." She nodded and felt comfortable where she stood in Overwatch but also physically in his office. "Si- sorry. Commander, I should probably get back to my studies. My nanotechnology won't get anywhere without my hands on it. I needs to be perfected. Is there a day or time range you want the complete data in?" He shook his head. "I want you to go at your own pace and don't stress yourself out." She closed her eyes and nodded a small bit. "Understood." She started towards the door when she heard him speak again. "And Angela, come to me if you need anything. I can help you if you need it." She nodded one last time and left the room.
Jack sat at his desk and put his head in his hands. "How can someone like that be so cute? I know I said I would stay either only men.. but she's adorable." He spoke to himself. He kept losing himself in thought and it had been half and hour before he got back to what he was doing. He swore out of panic and looked around at the time.
Angela went back to the medical bay and started working on what had been working on before. She had a plan. The next day would be the day she finally got her plan out. A test would need to run before anything else. Not a physical test, a hypothetical test. She had made it known that she didn't want to be bothered unless she asked for someone.
Hours had passed and Angela was still working. She had been slowly losing her thoughts and drifting to sleep. Each minute that passed made her eyes feel heavier. She had fallen asleep at her desk, her head on the desk and her arms not too far away from her head. Her dream felt as real as the sky, only time didn't exist. No time, just people, situations, and a faint ticking. Nothing around her would be the source of this ticking. It was distant, so she was fine with it. She saw silhouettes of a woman and a man, walking together. One with wings the other in a long coat. She knew what was happening. She stood up from her desk and walked towards the only other two she saw. They seemed happy. Laughing and holding hands. She knew what this was. She just hoped it wouldn't come too quick. She saw the outfits of what they were wearing but any skin was shadowed and almost see through. On the woman, a blue uniform, almost a dress. She noted that design and looked at the man. Wearing what her commander wore. She saw a staff in the woman's hands. She noted how that looked and kept it in her mind. "Hey." A voice sounded so close yet so far. It was not feminine nor was it masculine, it was just a voice. "Miss Ziegler, wake up." That voice kept beaconing her. The ticking got louder as the voice got closer. "Wake up." She couldn't stand the ticking anymore. It was background noise and didn't bother her but it was in her ears now. Her eyes fluttered open and she lifted her head. "I was warned you might be on edge. It's alright." An unfamiliar woman spoke. She looked at who it was. A woman in blue. A suit of blue and a symbol under her eye. "Who are you?" She asked before yawning. She covered her mouth as she yawned. "I'm Captain Ana Amari. Im a medic and second in command here at Overwatch." The woman introduced herself. "Jack told me to see you when I could. I didn't mean to wake you, dear. But I'm here to help you with your work." Angela stretched. "Thank you, Miss Amari. I am done for the day, though. I have everything planned out." She didn't realize how this woman introduced herself until after she said that. She nearly jumped at the realization. "Sorry, ma'am... captain." She was panicking and Ana only smiled. "What are you apologizing for? You have done nothing wrong. Unless it's something I don't know about." Angela quickly shook her head. "Oh no. Nothing worse than just waking up. I didn't realize your position here." Ana chuckled. "Don't worry. I know you're trying. You should get yourself back to where you're staying. It's late." She spoke like a mother. Angela smiled and nodded. "Thank you, captain Amari." Nods of farewell were exchanged and Ana walked away. Angela couldn't help but think she messed up, even if it was just a small bit.
