Into The Void

Chapter 1 : Curiosity

I dreamed, I was running through the field of green witch seemed wrong since I've only ever know fields of yellow and grey so I know I was dreaming. But I feel this dread force pulling me back to reality, why? Can't I stay longer ? It's beautiful here,I can finally feel and breath the fresh air, can I please stay a little longer uttered Josiah as gravity pulls him from this big beautiful field of green covered with an ocean of flowers and fruits into this hole in the sky where he gets sucked into reality.

Josiah gets pulled back,  as he slowly awakens, The pod, where he had been sleeping has some how been opened and he had been awaken. Josiah so distraught slowly begins to open his eyes, feeling nauseous and anxious he stumbles out of the pod on to the floor vomiting the fluids that had been keeping him alive. He begins to choke and lose air, as he is gasping for his very last breath looking around the room filled with pods of his friends and family still asleep , he begins to fade out his vision closing in as he looks up to see a man rushing to his aid.

The man had dirty clothes on as if he had been running for years without stopping, light bushy beard, crazy wild open green eyes like a mysterious fountain in the forest. He quickly and anxiously grabbed Josiah as he begins to loose the light in eyes, he quickly runs Josiah to the medical bay to have the A.I take over.

The mysterious man plugs in a usb of data into the computer and starts downloading a file, as it begins downloading he is trying to find the sedative he needs to give to Josiah before he looses all air in his chest. Finally a sound emerges "download complete".
Ash (Artificial.Scientific.Helper), appears digitally, his eyes open as wide as they can be. "Its that time again?".

The mysterious man yells " Ash, i need your help".

Ash the digital computer appears and says "long time no see my friend, if were both here it means it didn't work .. you do realise it didn't work last time."

The mysterious man shouts " Ash will you just HELP me!!!!".

Ash - "Alright fine nice to see some one missed me."

Ash pulls out multiple arms and starts to inspect and scan the body, Josiah still shaking his body, going into like if he was at the edge of death already.

Ash -" his heart rate is spiking you pulled him to fast, he needs be sedated before he goes into shock".

The mysterious man- "i know but i cant find the sedatives". He is thrashing the room looking for the injections until finally sees them and he runs and hurries to them and grabs them, opens the package and take a needle and stabs Josiah in the heart as fast as he could...

Josiah now starting to calm down, the mysterious man takes a deep breath looks at Ash and says "i did miss you buddy, sorry its been a while". As they smirk at each other.

Ash-"did you find what you ne— interrupted by a loud alarm noise....

The mysterious man takes a glance at Josiah in the table, seeing him lying there safe for he know what he must do next.
The mysterious man runs to the computer " ahhhh they tracking me, Ash i need you to block the signal buy some time..."

Ash - already done.

Mysterious man - "Their getting a lock on me ahh." Upset he punches the table no more time left he knows what he must do. " Ash how much time do i have"? .... As soon as he said that that timer on the mysterious mans watch starts to beep fast letting him know he has 1 min left. The mysterious man paused for a few seconds knowing that he has waited years and years for this moment and realises what he didn't want to happen is starting to happen, he has to react quickly .

With all his might as he runs to the door, turns back to Josiah and Ash standing in front, looks at them both quietly with every regret in his voice. " take care of him buddy". He runs away.

Ash - "goodbye old friend" he whispers quietly with sadness and regret-look on his face .

The mysterious man makes a run for it across the ship running with every power he has left trying to make it to ejection room. His body starts to glow light blue, like if his veins were having a light show . He eventually makes it to the room and locks the door behind slowly walking to the exit door witch leads to the oblivion of space.
Looking at his clock with 10 seconds with a quiet whisper he says "ash open the door".

He closes his big green eyes and the doors open .. theres a dreadful silence, as the mysterious man gets sucked into space, never to been seen or heard from again, frozen to death shattered into millions of pieces as he drifts into the ships fire.

This moment Ash is still standing next to Josiah as he grabs his hand and tells him " i will not fail you again."

Couple of hours of Josiah wakes up, opening his eyes ,stretching his body and slowly trying to get off the bed but he is still nauseous and he stumbles and falls.

"Ahh i can barely feel my legs " .

"Where am i ?" He takes the injections off his arm "Hello is anyone there?".

But not a single sound to be heard. He wondered his eyes around the room, his last memory is walking through a field of green, his memory is still foggy from all the sedatives. Josiah sees some light shining from the next room and he starts to slowly walk through it.

He enters the room to see nothing but a big dome of glass looking over space, his face is amazed at what he sees, he starts walking towards it and you can see this big beautiful yellow planet with colours of red and orange spring out of it maybe its a sun or a star, at this point it doesn' matter, Josiah is frozen with awe!!! He stares and stares wondering how and why he is there all alone ..no clue as to the fact that this is the beginning of a long journey to save humanity one last time...
