It was the day of the pep rally, but I wasn't going. Most of my friends were, but they all had dates, and they said if I went alone people would think I was a loser. I really need new friends. Katie and Britney were so harsh sometimes. All they care about is dance team and boys. Harmony's nice though. I wouldn't trade her for anything. I was bothered about boys and even had a crush on one. That was until I found out the guy I liked was going to the pep rally with Katie. If you hadn't guessed already, I had a crush on Darnell. I thought he was going to ask me to go but then Katie told me they were going together. I never told them about my crush on him, only harmony. And even if Katie knew, she would go with him anyway, so there was no point.

I some how ended up helping Harmony give Claire Fitzroy a makeover. And you know what. It was actually quite fun. I was waiting outside the parlor for harmony to show up. We decided, dates or not, we were going to get ice cream. I had been standing there for a while when the door opened and Katie stormed out. I was about to shout for her when the door opened again and Darnell walked out, shaking his head. Oh no. I stood there head down, trying not to draw attention to myself. "Hey, y/n, did you see where Katie went?" Great " yeah she went that way" I said pointing in the direction that Katie went. He just sighed. "Anyway, where's Levi?" (Random made up character) i furrowed my eyebrows, "Levi?" I asked him, confused. "Yeah Levi, weren't you two going to the pep rally together?" He questioned, leaning on the wall next to me. "What are you talking about?" I asked him "Well Katie told me that you were going to the pep rally with him, but I didn't see you there." I just shook my head and smiled. " I have no idea what she has told you but it probably isn't true. Anyway, why do you ask?" I said looking at him. "Well, Katie asked me to go to the pep rally with her, and I told her that I was gonna ask you" he said rubbing the back of his neck " but then she told me that you were already going with someone, so I had no choice but to go with her." He said. I was so annoyed at Katie. She must have overheard me telling harmony about my crush on him and decided to go behind my back. "Wait, you were going to ask me?" I said. "Well yeah, but you probably would've said no anyway, I'm going to the arcade, I'll see you around" he said going to walk away. "Wait," I said grabbing his wrist "just so you know, I would've said yes" I said I said, letting go of his wrist. "You would?" He asked. I nodded, tilting my head. "Do you wanna come to the arcade with me. I could teach you how to play street fighter?" He said "yeah sure" i said. He smiled before putting his hand out for me to grab. We held hands and walked to the arcade. On the way we walked past the bathroom, just as Katie was walking out of it. "Hey, what do you think your doing walker, you supposed to be MY date!" She said blocking our path. "Yeah I was, but you were the one who stormed out of the parlor" he said before pulling me past her, walking away. I just smiled at Katie awkwardly before walking with Darnell. He looked at me before laughing. I laughed too. Let's just say going to the arcade with him was the most fun I had had in a while.
