''Comon Calpurnia think it through this isn't the best way to leave ,you should umm..... make a NOTE! and um maybe get more money and oh make a plan!"

I throw down the maid-wear onto my bed and swivel around ''I have a plan..escape'' i laugh quietly to myself as i start taking the shirt off the hanger

''a real plan, that's what went wrong last time you didn't think it through you didn't include the guards into your plan you need to make sure you'll be ok''

I stop for a second my plan was full proof, a 100% through. Claire would present me to the guards as her cousin and once at the outer gate where most of the palace guards were i would turn to the side hiding my face in my scarf nobody would know... unless they asked to see my face. What if they got suspicious and asked for an I.D?

As much as i hated to admit it Claire was right.

''Fine what do you suggest we do?'' i cross my arms impatiently

''well first off you can't carry a big bag of change around we need to get that into dollar bills so here's what we should do.....''

We spend the rest of the day dyeing my hair and making adjustments to my usual makeup.

''you sure i look um.......different?''

''totally you look like a palace maid , nobody would think you were royalty''

"thanks'' i tell her sarcastically and we both laugh together , looking at myself in the mirror I'm a new person instead of my dirty blond hair its been replaced to a dark chocolate which now makes my hazel eyes pop now that I think of it.,it has also been curled which looks much prettier if i do say so myself and I've been given a real castle employee card that Claire kindly ''borrowed'' for me which reads

Date of birth: March 31, 1991

Services: Assistant Chef

''that should do it '' Claire steps back to admire her handy work .

I examine myself further in the mirror, catching a quick glimpse of Claire's pained expression .

"Claire are you alright?" I make her sit down on my bed with me .

" I'm fine Calipurnia it's just -I really wish you didn't have to go" she tries to smile at me but it doesn't work

A single tear slides down her face

I do the only thing I can, I bring her towards me hugging her as she muffles her cries on to my shoulder. He trembling body and shallow breaths make me want to burst into tears myself by I know I have to keep it together.because if something like this got me teary eyed I would never last in he real world.

And I have to be ready

"I'm so sorry Calipurnia I-I didn't mean to make a scene I just-" I cut her off

"No it's perfectly fine, I'm going to miss you as well, please promise me you'll stay safe and when the start questioning you deny Everything okay?!"

"I will I promise " I hug her tighter, bitting my lip trying to keep he tears contained.

"Here let me give you something in case you need to escape" I rush over to my night stand and start digging through my keepsakes box because it held one of my most valuable possessions. It was a golden pocket watch handed down generation after generation worth at least ten grand.

"Here take it" I grab her hand and shove it in her palm.

"Pawn it or whatever you need to do, but please just be safe"

She tries to talk but can't seem to find the words, only staring at the valuable object in her hands.

Just then there's a knock on my door. "Princess, lights out dear" it was the guard.

Wiping as much of the tears as I could of Claire's face I send her off

"go go, we'll speak in the morning"I push her towards the door, but before she leaves she give me one last heartfelt smile as she slides the watch and chain into her apron.

"May princess Calipurnia live on forever" she utters as she quickly steps out.
