"Hows Miami, baby?!" Y/N says as soon as I accept the facetime. "It's okay.." I reply, my voice fading, my gaze on my jeep. Right now I'm outside of the Toronto airport and I'm going to surprise Y/N, she thinks I have a month left of the tour, "But you're not here," I continue, wishing I could tell her that I will be seeing her sooner than she thinks but I decide to keep it to myself. I look at my watch and see that it is 3:15 PM and my flight leaves at 5 PM. "I have to go love." I say, getting in my jeep. I don't want to miss the flight that will bring me home to my beautiful Y/N. She gives me a pouty face. "Okay I love you Shawn." she says finally, after pausing to think about something. "I'm going to be back in one more month I promise. I love you." I end the call quickly so she doesnt recognize the jeep I get into.

"I just want Shawn to come home.." I sniffle which is the result of crying for a solid 5 minutes. Shawn is my world and the fact that he isn't with me right now breaks my heart. I need to get my head straight. I need to just keep my mind busy and remember that I will see him in about a month. I figure that Youtube will do the trick. I open Youtube and find an old cover of his (in my recommended list) making me smile.
I click on the video to hear his voice again.
"What's up guys? It's Shawn Mendes and today I'm going to be doing a cover of Five Seconds of Summer. 'She looks so perfect'."

I open the front door slowly not wanting to let her know I'm her as I'm going to surprise her with the white roses, her favorites, in my other arm. It's silent and I shut the door behind me very slowly, all of a sudden I hear: "What's up guys? It's Shawn Mendes and today I'm going to be doing a cover of Five Seconds of Summer. 'She looks so perfect'." I hear my younger self start to sing. My heart grows warm and butterflies appear in my stomach. My smile grew even bigger by the second. 'She's watching old videos of me!' I will always remember that moment when I heard my younger past self singing to my future girlfriend.
I walk over to the kitchen and let out a small "Baby?" causing her to whip her head around. Her eyes flashing at the sight of me "SHAWN!! Your home!!" She jumps up from the table running to me as I put the roses down, and she jumps in my arms. "Hey." I say as she buries her head in the crook of my neck. "I missed you so much," she says tears running down her face. Her smile is wider then Toronto itself
"I got you a present love." I say smiling at the thought of what is to come. "What is it?" she asks with a smile on her face, picking up the roses "These are my favorites thank you Shawn!" she says kissing me on the cheek. "You best sit down honey." I coo placing her on the edge of the counter. "Y/N... these past few years i have been the happiest that I thought I could ever be. This is going to be really hard and I don't know how to say this but I'm just going to have to say it.. I don't want to be your boyfriend anymore." I struggle to get out with the most serious voice I can. "Oh" she says, her voice tiny, as the water works starting again. I guess I should go pack or something.." She says, knowing something might be up.
"Y/N wait you didn't get your gift!" I call grabbing her arm and turning her around.
I pull out the ring box from my pocket and get down on one knee.
"Baby i don't want to be your boyfriend i want to be your husband"
"You, you, what?" she says barely audible. "Will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" I propose , giving her my signature million dollar smile. "Yes. YES!!!! Oh my gosh. Yes!!" she says, her smile shining brighter than a diamond, tear streaks of joy running down her cheeks. I did it. I made this girl mine forever. I am just a kid in love. I scoop her up holding her tight. Kissing the living hell out of her. Which of course makes her giggle. All of a sudden she's pushing away from me hitting my chest "Shawn you ass!" she shouts referencing her previous change in mood. Making me laugh.
"Heh heh hah ha " she mocks me
"You're helping me to feel better now. Movies at the theater will do."
"Later love" I pause "Since we're getting married I want to start a family.." I say shifting my hands down to her hips. She bites her lip playing with one of my curls "Later." She agrees.
