a childhood of trauma blunted only by the faint memory of love led gabriel, one fateful day, across the paths of a greek god and a dryad. the two took pity on the poor boy, and each blessed him. however, the blessings came with a heavy price.

gabriel isn't the type to say everything he thinks; he lets his actions speak for him. if he notices you're feeling down, he might handpick you a bouquet. if he sees that your shoelaces are untied, he might drop something nearby to draw your attention down.
this doesn't mean he's mute or selectively mute — he's simply a quiet soul. he can engage in idle chatter as well as anyone, but can just as easily lapse into a comfortable silence. and his presence seems to do that, to allow people to relax and find peace with someone who will listen.

he is slow to anger, and will retreat if pushed to his limits. very few have seen him cry or lose his temper. however, since he represses these emotions, he has trouble admitting anything, and would rather avoid or downplay an issue than address it.
though he can watch horror movies without so much as a wince, seeing anyone getting injured in real life upsets him deeply, and he'll drop anything to help. he is incapable of physically hurting anyone — besides, of course, killing them by turning them to gold.

gabriel is a romantic, but he's scared. terrified, even, of hurting the other person or of them leaving. if he likes you, it's likely he'll keep it to himself. perhaps his affections will materialize as gifts from a secret admirer. letters, poems, flowers, food.
letting his guard down around you opens the door for physical intimacy. he loves touch — craves it — but has soft and hard limits because of past trauma and it's essential with him (and in general, with everyone) to secure consent. never surprise him by grabbing unless you have a death wish.
if you enter a relationship with him, you're his; you aren't allowed to leave. hurt him all you'd like, but never walk away. he won't take it well, and he will turn your break-up kiss into your last.
