A/N ~ The Pendragon tent to the top (mobile) or the side (laptop)! Enjoy this chapter it took me nearly two weeks to write, jesus.

When Regina notices the plants changing color from green to pink and purple, she tells everyone to stick by her-unless you want to die.

So, naturally, they stick together like glue on an inanimate object.

Regina holds her hand up once they get close to a house in the middle of nowhere. She whispers something that sounds like, "watch them, Tatiana." to her sister, and gets off of her horse gracefully.

Tatiana turns to them with a small smirk. "Well? We make camp here for the night. Come on, hurry. Yes Arthur that means set your tent up," rolling her eyes, she sits on the side of the site.

Everyone gets to work. Mostly the knights and Merlin though, the princess and king can't put up tents for crap.

Merlin snorts when Arthur sits on a log and nearly breaks his bum with splinters. Avalon rolls her eyes at her father's idiocy. "I think the grass here will do just fine, father." And proceeds to gather her skirts and plops down into the intriguing purple grass. She feels vaguely comfortable.

Regina comes out when the sun falls, and she has a tall man next to her. She notices that Tatiana fell asleep, without a blanket, so Avalon lays her red cape around her. She does a head-count as well.

Most of the knights and soldiers had fallen asleep as well, but Avalon told them she'd watch over them if anything bad happened. Thank goddess Regina came out before anything bad happened, though. Avalon doesn't have her weapon of choice yet, but she does have Lancelot's sword.

She doesn't think twice about standing up and dusting her dress off before going to meet Regina in the middle. "Regina. We are all safe. I protected them all until you came back."

Regina nods, looking troubled for a second. Then it all washes away as the man beside her pats her arm.

Avalon eyes the man. He's tall, with a hat to top it off.

He has black shoes, black slacks, and a black coat. Even his hat is black.

He'd probably look like Lancelot when he's not dressed in his knight garb, actually. She looks up into the man's eyes, and that's where they're different. Lance has the most beautiful brown eyes, and they're always soft. This man's eyes are bluish-green and have a mad look in them.

"Avalon. Meet the Mad Hatter." Regina smiles crookedly at Avalon, causing a slight smile to rise from Avalon's lips.

"Nice to meet you," she says, holding her hand out to the Hatter.

"You as well, princess." The Mad Hatter gets on his knees, removing his coat and places it in Avalon's hands.

Avalon's blush has more to do with the Hatter's show of affection than the rising sun on her pale skin.

The Mad Hatter seems to notice it, too, and Avalon erases her emotions. She has Lancelot, the best, loyal, faithful man in Camelot. And she loves him. God, she loves him.

A person from behind snaps Avalon out of her daydream of her and Lance's wedding that'll hopefully happen someday soon.

"Avalon?" A sleepy voice asks from behind her, and she jumps, turning around quickly, pulling Lancelot's unbalanced sword on the imposter.

"Merlin, you right twit." She heaves the sword back into Lancelot's scabbard, panting a bit with the effort. "What the heck are you doing up so early?"

Merlin rolls his eyes at Avalon's show of distaste. "Come on, Avalon. You know I do not sleep very well with Arthur in danger every corner we turn. I also wanted to meet Regina's friend. Merlin, nice to meet you sir...?" Merlin holds his arm out for the Mad Hatter to shake.
