The autumn wind was blowing lightly as the group of college students approach the new building that was supposed to be their new fraternity house. The first thing the men noticed about the old house was that the wood looked weak, every step they took on the porch creaked with age.

Midoriya, one of the four boys, was the first to enter the house, coughing profusely at the collected dust that fell off of the door. He waved his calloused hand to hopefully clear the area of dust, being mostly unsuccessful due to the shear amount of dust that had been settled over the years.

"Who the fuck thought it would be a good idea to get this shithole?" Bakugo, a perpetually pissed off blonde spoke up. His grimace that was usually adorned on his face only seemed to become more intense.

Kirishima slung an arm over Bakugo's shoulders, flashing his usual bright smile.
"Hey, don't be like that! It was in our range of cash, and it'll be a good project to try to fix this place up!"

It was common for Kirishima to see the bright side of things, even if the rest of them thought this house was a lost cause. The rest of the boys let out an exasperated sigh, slowly entering the house.

The first thing the boys noticed was the old, torn furniture. It looked like this place had been abandoned for many years, considering the time period at which they look like they were from.

Todoroki, the last of the four, entered the grungy building. His heterochromic eyes trailed the interior, a frown forming on his face.
"I knew we were going to have to clean up, but this is more then I bargained for." Even though no one said it, they all agreed.

The wallpaper had faded and pealed, most of the furniture was torn and broken. The worst of it all, there was dust in every crevice of the place. Midoriya and Todoroki shared an equally disturbed look. They both knew who was going to be cleaning most of the house.

Kirishima, still determined to make things more positive, marched to stand in front of the group with his sharp grin.
"Come on, guys! This is going to be great, I can feel it!"

"Can you also feel if we have running water and working electricity?"
To prove his point, Bakugo flicked the light switch near the door with nothing happening.

However, Bakugo's sour attitude did not deter Kirishima's oozing positivity.  He took charge to look around, soak in the environment and understand the layout of the new place.

After several minutes of wandering around with the poor boys following along, they had finished scanning the bottom floor of the house. Needless to say, almost everything had been torn up and thrown around. Now it suddenly made sense that the house was dirt cheep, it was a complete mess.

Midoriya finally gave into the fact that it was to late to leave since they had no where else to go to.
"I'll go to the store and get some cleaning supplies and food."

Todoroki, looking down at his slightly shorter friend, gave him a nod in agreement.
"I will go as well. I wish to become more familiar with the town."

The two began to plan out their shopping trip while Kirishima and Bakugo did their best to fix the living room up. They moved most of the furniture out of the house, clearing up the majority of the room.

The room was rather spacious, having two large windows next to each other, the curtains being an old, faded beige color. The wallpaper being a simple crimson, leaving a more wealthy feel to the old building.

Kirishima took in the new feel of the room, his sharp smiling immediately brightening the room. He was already imagining how to fix the room, great ful that he already had a job to get everything set up.

Bakugo, on the other hand, was less enthusiastic about the new project that they had to work on. He knew it was going to cost a ton to get all of the furniture replaced, get the electricity to be turned back on and checked incase it was bad.

"Okay, before we get started on anything new, why don't we go upstairs and choose our rooms? That way we can at least confirm that we have a place to sleep tonight."
Kirishima beamed, throwing his duffle bag over his shoulder.

Bakugo scoffed, gripping his own luggage and tugging it along with him towards the stairs.
"Yeah, if the rooms aren't infested with rats."

"Kacchan, we shouldn't think like that. We all brought blankets and pillows, it'll be fine." Bakugo scoffed at Midoriya, muttering for him to shut up as the four men made their way to the staircase.

Then they heard a thump come from upstairs. They all froze, turning to stare at each other. None of them went up there, they hadn't seen any rats or other pests. A feeling of unease filled each of them.

"What ...do you think that was?"
Kirishima pondered out loud, desperately searching for an explanation to answer the question that everyone was wondering.

Bakugo shoved past the others, angrily stomping up the stairs before stopping dead in his tracks again. Another thump. This one was louder though, almost intentional sounding.

"D-do you think that someone broke in?"

"No, that would be unlikely, Midoriya. This house has been abandoned for many years, anything valuable is either broken or has already been stolen." Todoroki did his best to ease all of their worries, but it only aided in their panic. If someone wasn't here to rob them, then what could they be there for?

Finally, Bakugo was fed up with the bullshit that everyone was thinking about and continued to ascend the steps. Even though his face showed no fear, anxiety had begun to build in the pit of his stomach, making him feel a little queasy.

Unfortunately for Bakugo, right as he got to the top of the stairs, he heard one last final bang, noting the closing of the attic door out of the corner of his eye.

Kirishima was the first to notice Bakugo shaking, swiftly moving to his side and gripping his arm. The shaking stopped, Bakugo now aware of his own involuntary shaking.
"Are you okay, bro?"

Bakugo violently tore his arm out of Kirishima's grip.
"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?"

"I don't know, after that last bang you froze again. Did you see anything?"

Bakugo didn't say anything at first, instead glaring at the attic door. Kirishima was quick to also look at the attic door, ushering the other two to follow.

The four of them slowly approached the suspicious door, everyone's anticipation growing with each step. Todoroki reached up to pull the string, a bead of sweat falling from his forehead.

Click. The door opened, a small, fold out stairs came with it. Each boy shared a nod before Bakugo started to go up to the attic.
