A/n This one shot is probably gonna be really bad and idk if I'm even gonna post it, so far this is just drafts.
Cathy didn't like the rain, but as luck would have it, she was currently stuck at her local bookstore waiting for the downpour to stop so she could run home.
Home. Home was something Cathy still wasn't sure about, yes of course she loved the home they had been granted by whatever God or force brought them back for a second chance, but everything was so different.
And of course having the previous ex wives of your dead husband around was always a constant challenge, there was the dreaded survivors guilt that would sweep her away in a wave of terror and regret that kept sleep away with ease.
That's why she was here. She needed to get away from everyone, just be alone with her thoughts for a while, she didn't want to be vulnerable infront of the other queens, she knew she should talk to the others, but it wasn't that simple, opening up felt like an impossible task to her, so she left without telling them, and left her phone so she could be completely alone, except for the strangers that lined the shelves.
BANG
Cathy stumbled back in fright and shock as the sudden noise has jolted her out of her thoughts.
Eyes dilated, right hand clutching her heart, as she heaved in deep breaths from the scare, she looked around with wild eyes for the source of the noise.
"CATHY FUCKING PARR."
It was... Anne? With the front door to the store wide open, if looks could kill, Cathy would be six feet under.
Cathy, not as frightened as she was moments before, she was now confused and quite embarrassed at the sudden appearance and outburst of her friend, fellow customers that were previously scanning the shelves now stared in concern and confusion in the direction of Anne and Cathy.
"Um, Anne? What are you doing here? Is everything alright?" Cathy said, trying to avoid the questioning glares of onlookers.
"Are you kidding me?! You've been gone for 6 hours now! You had Everyone worried! Especially Aragon. It's almost dark for fucks sake!" Anne said, even with the fierce anger in her voice, her eyes betrayed her as they showed worry and genuine concern in her green hues.
Cathy felt a short pang of guilt but it was quickly replaced with slight annoyance, as her face quickly morphed into a small frown.
"Why does it matter Anne? I go here all the time, I'm a grown woman, I don't have a curfew!" Cathy fired back, but with a scoff and glare from Anne, her confidence immediately shrunk, though she was not giving in just yet.
"It matters because you didn't tell us where you went, or even tell us you would be out late! Everyone was worried sick, Kat was stressed out of her mind wondering if you got lost or hurt! Aragon was pacing back and forth in the living room! Jane tried to call you like 10 times but you left your fucking phone at home! Anna was scared you got kidnapped! And I had to run through the fucking rain to trY AND FIND YOU!" Anne got rather angry towards the end of her rant, but inside she was scared, scared and tired, and drenched in water from head to toe.
Cathy looked down in shame, internally hitting herself in the head for making her friends, her FAMILY, worry about her. She didn't have the heart to try and argue with Anne after hearing about her god mother. So instead she muttered a small.
"I'm sorry... I just... I needed some space, from everyone." She said in a half whisper half grumble of a reply.
Anne was going to fire back a response, but upon seeing her friend's eyes, and seeing that there was something else mixed in with the shame and guilt, she stopped. But she was not going to drop the matter completely.
