Atsuko had told Y/n about the Rite of Decention. They were both estedic, Atsuko told Y/n all about the other decentions she has seen.
The days before, the Decention was all Y/n talked about. A serten adepti found this quite annoying.
"Atsuko told me they make wishes! Did you know that Xiao? Oh of course you know that" Y/n laughed at her own question the continued talking about the Decention till she brought up a question. "Xiao, you know Morax- er Rex Lapis, right?" He reluctanly nods, knowing this would only make them talk more.
"Do you think? He would recigise me?" This suprised Xiao.
"You have met him?"
"No no. Baal was quite persistent on me not meeting the other arcons. But my father did, and I look a lot like him!" Xiao sighed in relief, not knowing exactly why this reliefed him. Perhaps for Rex Lapis' safty.
He watched Y/n talk about her father, not really listening.
"Hey hey, your stairing again." They roll their eyes at Xiao.
"You look happy talking about him."
"Well" Y/n looked down, holding on tightly to the purple sash on their hip. "He was the best.. back then Baal, wasn't Baal, just mom. Jess and I were close as close could be. We were a family. When he was killed... everything fell apart." Y/n looked up sudenly. "I dont even know why im telling you this. You dont care" she laughed.
"I never said that." They were both surprised by the males words.
"So you admit you have emotions." Y/n turned the conversation twords the unsuspecting male.
"I- no! I didnt say that!" He mildly paniced.
"Well then, if mr Xiao has emotions, that means one thing." There was an evil look in their eyes as Y/n spoke.
Instinctively, Xiao reached for his polerarm, only to find it not there. He prepaired to fight as Y/n aproched him.
"You can smile." At this, Xiao was teken off guard, as they jumped on him tackling him to the ground, laughing and tickling Xiao. There was no reponce, till Y/n tryed ticking his neck, he squeaked.
Squeaked. Like a mouse. Y/n found this hilarious, and started wheezing as they laughed. Xiao was not amused.
"Stop that."
"You are ticklish! This is GOLD!"
"Its not that funny.."
"Your right" Y/n gained their composure. "Its hilarious!" Then resumed laughing.
"Dont you have a Decention to rant about?" Xiao rolled his eyes.
"Sure but I think seeing you smile would be much more fun."
Xiao forced his face into a smile. Making Y/n laugh harder.
"No a real smile, its gatta reach your eyes!"
"What?"
"Oh come on, dont tell me youve never actually smiled before." With that they heard Atsuko yell down from the Lobby
"Y/n come on we're going to be late!"
The two had agreed to meet up and walk to Liyue for the dissection.
"Right!" Y/n hopped to their feet "gatta run ill see you later though, k?" They ran off before Xiao could even think of a responce.
"A real smile hm?" Xiao pondered on that. Did someone like him even deserve to smile? Would Y/n still want to be friends if they found out all he had done? And why the hell did he care?
~~~
Its long past when the decision should have ended, where is Y/n? Something must have happened, eh I dont care. They can defend themselfs, im sure thier fine. I mean they are the child of an arcon, thats gatta be something.I paced on the roof on the Inn looking out after few seconds to see if Y/n had returned. But before I saw them i saw another. The boy Y/n often hung out with. The one who asked her to travel with him.
He came to the balcony, a spot i consider peaceful and brought the worst news.
"Rex Lapis has been killed."
My life came crashing before my eyes. I must have stood there for hours, but it felt like seconds. When I was shook out of my trace. It was by Y/n hugging me.
"I couldn't get away fast enough. I'm so sorry Xiao."
Sorry? What did Y/n have to be sorry for?
Surly Y/n didnt kill Morax... right?
