Author’s note: This isn’t autobiographical. My best friend, and sister was dumped recently and I was inspired to write this poem.
Heart break after heart break
Overwhelming pain
When will I
Find my eternal happiness?
Keep thinking he’s the one
But never works out
In the end
Another broken heart
Always searching
For Mr. Right
Always left
Broken hearted
Tired of this
Overwhelming pain
When will I find
My eternal happiness
Always searching
For true love
Never do I find it
Another broken heart
Relationships come and go
Leaving me broken hearted
Wishing I could be happy
Heart break after heart break
The same old thing
Left behind
In loneliness and darkness
Always searching,
Never finding
My Mr. Right
Always searching,
Never finding
My true love
Looking for happiness
Looking for love
Never do I find it
Left with
Another broken heart
Kept thinking he was it
But he hurt me
Like all the others
So I wonder
What is love?
They all claimed
They loved me
All promised me the same thing
All ended the same way
Another broken heart

Overwhelming pain
When will I

I’m always searching
But never do I find
My true love,
My Mr. Right
Slowly giving up hope
Not wanting to continue
Keep on fighting
Hoping that one day
I will find my soul mate
