Jackson crawled over to Grant and Sattler silently and Hammond crouched down next to the group, watching the dinosaurs drinking from the lake and wading through the water.
"How'd you do this?"
"I'll show you."---
The jeeps were now following a dirt road and they pulled up to a large building that looked like it was still being built. Scaffolding was built around the left part of the building. A section in the wall was missing and it was covered by a semi-clear tarp. Workers were going back and forth with random equipment, materials and sometimes blueprints.
They all got out from jeeps and walked up the large steps to the large front doors. The doors opened when they came close, two workers were behind them and as the group past them, they gave them all a warm smile. Jackson returned the smile before paying attention to what Hammond was saying.
Infront of them were two impressive skeletons suspended on some metal cables hanging from the ceiling, one of a T-Rex and another of an Alamosaurus in some kind of fighting scene.
"G'day, g'day, g'day! Now, the most advanced amusement park in the entire world, incorporating all the latest technologies, and I'm not talking just about rides, you know, everybody has rides. But we've made living biological attractions so astounding, that they'll capture the imagination of the entire planet."
They all walked up the staircase that was next to the T-Rex, Hammond and the lawyer in the lead, Sattler and Grant behind them and Malcolm and Jackson at the back.
"So what are you thinking?" Sattler asked Grant and Jackson. Jackson just shook her head with a small laugh, she was still trying to process everything that was going on.
"That we're out of a job."
Malcolm took this as an opportunity and jumped up the steps next to Grant, "Don't you mean 'extinct'?" He grinned at Grant who just looked back at him with a blank face. Jackson couldn't help but let a small giggle leave her lips.---
Hammond lead the group to a room that looked like a movie theater. There were red seats organized in rows that were slightly elevated as you go back. They had metal bars infront of them like roller coasters seats. All the seats were facing a large screen.
"Why don't you all sit down? Uh, Donald, sit down, sit down." Hammond pointed to the third row.
The Doctors took the second row, all sitting next to eachother while Hammond walked up to the screen which had another Hammond appearing, probably a recording. "Here, here he comes. Well, here I come, yes."'Hello, hello,' he chuckled.
Hammond smiled at his 'audience', "Say hello, say hello!"
Jackson weakly replied, "Hello," in a sceptical whisper. The others did the same while the person next to her, Malcolm, gave a half-hearted wave, still smiling.'Hello, John!' The screen spoke.
"Oh, yes. I've got lines." Hammond dug into his shirt pocket and withdrew a pile of flashcards.
'Well, fine, fine, I guess. But, uh, how did I get here?' The screen continued the conversation.
"Uh, well, let me show you." He followed his lines on the card, "First, I'll need a drop of blood. Your blood."
The recorded Hammond extended his finger, 'Right.' Hammond mimed poking it with something sharp and the recorded Hammond retracted his finger, 'Ooh! John, that hurt!'
"Relax, John. It's all part of the miracle of cloning!" As Hammond spoke, another Hammond appeared on the screen greeting them all. He was followed by another Hammond and another and another, all of them greeting eachother. While this was going on the Doctors had their own whispered conversation, "Cloned from what? Loy extraction hasn't recreated an intact DNA strand." Grant leaned over to the other three.
"Not without massive sequence gaps." Malcolm agreed, Jackson nodded her head beside him.
"Paleo-DNA, from what source? Where do you get a hundred million-year-old dinosaur blood?" Sattler pondered as everyone turned back to the screen. The lawyer, which Jackson finally learned that his name was Donald Gennaro, shushed them. Hammond walked back to the rows and sat down next to Gennaro.
