Time. Time. Time.

Time was a blur this week and she had just woken up to the end of the week Friday. She had that feeling off, did the week go that quick? Have I been in a coma for the week?

That was an exaggeration, but time had really flown past her, this time she didn't manage to grip the kite and flow along she was being lunged forward and now it was already the end of the week.

Hermione was already up and dressed, always an early riser.

"morning" she mumbled.

"morning Constance, oh question do you mind if I review your notes on magical creatures, I think I've missed something" Hermione asked flicking through a thick book.

"sure" she said throwing her an equally thick book, she had taken way too many notes for that class, but it was her favourite and proved useful, it was like her own little guide.

She grabbed her uniform and headed to the bathroom.

Ten minutes later she was pulling a pair of boy's trousers on she grinned at herself.

She had forgotten what it was like wearing the girl's skirts over the holiday and she hated them. The whole week the god damn thing kept flinging up in the wind or itching her skin at the waist band she hated it.

And that was when she went on a little trip and bought three pairs of boy's pants pretending, they were for a friend who couldn't make it and now here she was wearing the boys uniform pants and they were so so much more comfortable.

She decided on skipping breakfast and instead sat in her closet and listened to music while reading. It sounded sad but really it was her hidden sanctuary.

She stumbled out the closet seven minutes before class giving her just enough time to get there a little early or bang on the dot.

She normally didn't mind classes liked them actually but her first lesson was defence against the dark arts she liked the class, but they were perfecting there Patronus charms which was one of the only things she couldn't achieve. She pretended she didn't know why but she knew.

She remembered everyone managed to cast at least half one last semester, but she was the only one that couldn't, and she hated it she went all red in the face in front of the whole class.

But hopefully she could bundle up some happy memories and shove the bad stuff outside, build the little brick broom cupboard and push all the shit inside.

When she entered the class room she was startled to see almost everyone was there, then she realised the clock she had been looking at was slow and she was two minutes late but professor Fernsby didn't seem to mind he smiled at Constance until his eyes landed on her pants.

"Miss Swallow I'm afraid you're not wearing the correct uniform" he said his forehead starting to crinkle, and everyone turned to her and she meant everyone in the classroom. She saw Hermione beam at her and Blaise grin.

"I don't understand sir" dangerous territory but she was willing to go there.

"Miss Swallow I think you are aware you should be wearing a skirt not personal clothing items" the professor said.

She was still standing at the door, "but sir these aren't personal items they are proper uniform I got them from Diagon alley".

She heard a few chuckles and snorts, Professor Fernsby did not look impressed.

"what I am saying is you aren't wearing the correct girl's uniform! you should be wearing a skirt those are for the boys"

She crinkled up her nose and beckoned herself to calm down, "so I'm not allowed to wear these even though they are uniform and it doesn't say anything against girls wearing pants or vice versa in the uniform guidelines and I'm not allowed to wear them even though the skirts keep getting caught up in the wind making us having to push them down all the time so we aren't flashing?" she cocked an eyebrow.
