After the geography class, which seemed never to end, I meet Dylan outside school, where he is already waiting for me. I get to him, put the backpack on the floor and sit on the bench where he was.

- Do you want a cigarette?

- No, Dylan, thank you.

-So you're quitting smoking, are you?

-You know that I am.

-You do well. So tell me, what did you want to talk about?

-Do you agree with the idea of going to the forest to camp? Don't tell me you're scared too!
Come on, Mia, are you serious? You always wanted to go there, and you are crazy about these things!

-I know, and yes, I want to go there but...

- So I don't know what the problem is! - He interrupts while he puts his leg on top of mine and lights his cigarette.

-Could you just let me talk?

-Sorry there. You may continue.-He says, smiling.

-Thanks! As I was saying, I do want to go there but not spend the night there, much less with Chris.

-Explain to me again your implication with the boy.

-You already know that when I don't go with someone's face I won't go and that's it. Besides, it doesn't inspire any confidence at all!

-You say that because everyone turned their backs on you and as he arrived at our group a little while ago you are afraid.
-Dylan is not that. Are you going to tell me that there's nothing about him that makes you think twice? It's just that you are fucking going to one of the most dangerous forests in the city for a night with a person you barely know!
-I will not say that I am his best friend, but it is only because I barely know him, and besides, I am not just going with him.
-Well, have fun. I'm not going!
After finishing the conversation, I pick up my backpack and go back to school. I am sure something is up, and I will make sure of it. After talking to Dylan, I had an English class, the last class before lunchtime. I spent the entire class thinking about an excuse not to go camping with them, which is very difficult because Dylan knows me better than anyone, he would soon know if I was lying, so it had to be a very plausible lie.
I honestly thought about faking my death, but I remembered that I have a festival next week where Blackbear is going, and I still don't know how to resurrect so I can't. I thought about committing a light crime and being arrested during the weekend they are thinking about going, but I don't want to have any severe problems with the authorities. Yes seriously, I once beat up a little girl who was an asshole with me and made fun of my father's death last year, and she present charges against me, my luck was that the agent thought I was right and ignored the matter. Karma is a bitch.

Well, after 90 minutes of thinking about something, I realized that the only thing I could say was that I had to help my mom with stuff at home. While I was going to the cafeteria where we agreed to speak, I looked for how to pray on google because I don't believe in any god, so I don't know how to pray, and I needed to pray for my lie to work.As soon as I enter the cafeteria, I see them sitting at one of the round tables furthest from the others and near the window that overlooked the atrium. I just toke an apple and sit between Ethan and Veronica.

-Aren't you going to eat anything else?-  Ethan asks, worried.

-I'm not hungry.

-You know you have to eat Mia! -Dylan says, a little angry.
-You worry too much about the way I eat. And you don't have to pretend to be my dad. He's already dead.
After my comment, the atmosphere became heavy. Yes, maybe I shouldn't have said that because it's still a subject that hurts me a lot, but that's how I deal with my problems. I ridicule them.
-Well... - Says Veronica, hoping to make the environment pleasant again- Did you think about the proposal to go camping?
-Yes, and I still find a terrible idea.-Ethan replies.

-I think you're the only one afraid. You should not be a pussy in front of  Mia! - Chris says as he laughs.
I didn't like how Chris responded to Ethan; he was super arrogant, especially with the crappy comment he made. I didn't answer because I didn't have the head to get upset, and I noticed that Ethan bit his tongue not to do it too.

-Yeah, I loved to go, but I have to stay with my mom, she asked for my help.-I say.
-I already talked to your mother, and she told me that you're free.
I should've known the Dylan would do that. I don't even know why I tried, even more, I think I prayed wrong.

-Even so, it was fun for us all to go.  If Ethan won't, I won't either.

-We are all going, and there is no more talk about it.-Veronica says to end the conversation.

Nobody else spoke. Ethan got up and left after his sister had finished the matter. Besides being upset, he seemed to know something to reject going so much, and I understood his feeling well. I'm sure Chris is not to be trusted, so I decided to investigate his background a little after school.
