The Truth

*chapter 1~The Files ~ Page 1*

"You ready?" Jayla asked her little brother Jayson. "I will tell you when to go...GO! "Jason warned his sister. Jayla quickly went into the head office and got some files from her desk in the bottom drawer. "I got it" Jayla whispered to her brother. They both snuck back upstairs to their room. They both sat on the bed, Jayson plopped on the bed excitedly.  Jayla hesitated to open the folder. "what are you waiting for, open the folder." Jason told his sister. Jayson snatched the folder from Jayla and carefully opens it. "Jayla look!" Jason was very confused when he saw the paper, The guy they saw on the paper didn't look like the guy that had raised them at all. The file was of there biological parents, they wanted to find out some information.

The guy who raised them was "George Turner" but the guy on the paper said "Aiden Landers". "wait Jayla aren't mom and dad married? wouldn't they have the same last name?" Jayson said severely confused. "Well yeah, I think we need more information but the other files are in the main office" Jayson added " but Dr. Kale is always in there." Jayla stated. Jayla and Jayson start making a plan but they only had one chance for the plan to actually work. They were gonna wait until an hour after bedtime, because by then Dr. Kale would be in the bathroom after his late night coffee so he can stay up and complete some files before he goes to sleep.

{10:00} ~ an hour after bedtime~ they both snuck downstairs but there was an unexpected visitor that had to go into The head office. "over here" Jayla said as she pulled her brother to the side of the wall". As the lady walked past, they snuck to the restroom. Jayson was disgusted, he had to go into the lady's restroom but they really wanted to know the truth. "Ok when I say go, go into the office look in last drawer and get the third file to the right, then go straight upstairs, I'll be right behind you". Kayla explained to her brother. Right before a teacher went into the men's restroom. That's when Jayson snuck out. He did everything as they had planned and went upstairs. Jayla hid the file under her pillow and went to sleep.

{8:00am} ~ the next morning ~

Jayla, Jayson and the other orphan kids went down to the cafeteria to eat breakfast and get ready for class. Jayson went straight upstairs and sat on his bunk. He started to cry and just question everything about his life. Then his sister came upstairs and saw him crying. "What's wrong jay" his sister asked him. "I-I is our whole life a lie". Jayson said sadly and confused. "we will figure this out Jay, just give the process time" Jayla explained. "O-Ok" Jayson cleared his face and they both went down stairs to get ready for class.

The orphanage teacher was Ms. Shelby. She  is very nice and she let's the class do whatever they ask basically, well as long as its something she could possibly allow. 

Jayla didn't pay attention to anything in the class today. She was very quiet and she was staring out into space as if she saw something scary. She was just worried about if the outcome would turn out bad or good and about her brothers feelings. " Ms' Turner, would you like to answer the question on the board." Jayla was very confused but she still attempted to answer the question. She walked up too the board too read an algebra question. She understood exactly how too find the product. Jayla is very smart for her age so its not a surprise how well she answered the question. Ms. Shelby looked at Jayla with a bit of suspense and confusion as if she didn't know Jayla was smart enough too answer the question after not paying attention in class."Ms. Shelby, may I please go to the restroom" Jayla asked.  Ms. Shelby allowed her to go to the restroom. Jayla walked down the hallway very slowly. Jayla is feeling overwhelmed and thinking about what she has been through all these years. 

She's been through a lot her mother and brother don't know about. Her father has abused her many times when they were alone and sometimes would touch her without her consent-

She started thinking about it and broke down in the middle of the hallway. Her brother recognized her sniffles and sobs so he went out to check on her and found her crying on her knees in the hallway. He picked her up and carried her to their room too lay down. She climbed up effortless too the top bunk and just lied flat on her back without saying a word. Her brother covered her with blankets, gave her a hug, and turned the lights off. 

When he got back too the classroom he told Ms. Shelby about what he had just done and about Jayla. Ms. Shelby was confused but she understood. 

It was time for recess so everybody got in a straight line and too their assigned spots in the line. Jayson was a bit worried for his sister but he secretly knows that their father hit Jayla sometimes. One day his mother told Jayson too go get something from the bathroom, but in the hallway next too the bathroom he heard a loud thump on the wall, he peaked over around the corner and saw what had happened.

He really wanted too find a way too help his sister and he was scared about what she thinks about. 

A few days have passed and Jayla has been less and less energized and cares about absolutely anything. The teacher noticed what has been going on lately and decided too get Jayla a therapist. She put the kids too work and told one of her students too watch the class for her

Ms. Shelby went too her office and went on her computer and found a therapist for Jayla. She dialed the numbers and waited 10 minutes on the waiting line. She scheduled an appointment for the therapist too come over to the orphanage the next day at 12:00pm.
