Me and Lev met on the volleyball team. (4 months ago..) "Everyone! Circle up!" Kuroo shouted, I walked towards him while talking to Kenma, "Everyone, meet Lev!" I looked over next to him and saw him.. a gray headed tall male. My heart fluttered, "Uh- Hi everyone!" I looked away as my heart was going a hundred miles per hour. (Later in practice..) "LEV! YOU SUCK AT RECIEVES!" I shouted, "WELL- ATLEAST IM NOT A SHORT YAKU!" He shouted back, everyone stopped laughing, "Jesus- Yaku go easy on him he didn't know-" I charged at him as he started running, "IM NOT SHORT!!" I finally caught up to him and landed on top of him on the floor. I blushed and quickly looked away. It was after practice and I had been on my way home.. "Hey! Yaku right?" I heard a familiar voice call out, "Lev?" I turned around and saw him panting as he ran over to me. "Uh.. sorry for asking.. but can you help me with some recieves?" He said, I pulled out my phone to see the time and nodded my head yes. (Around three hours later..) "LEV! YOU FINALLY GOT ONE!" I shouted, "IVE GOTTEN MORE THAN ONE YAKU!!" I giggled.. for the first time in a long time..
(The next day.. ) Why is it that every time I see him I have butterflies.. No, he's nothing but my teammate. As I walked into the gym.. "YAKU! HEY LITTLE SHORTIE WHATS UP?" Lev shouted, Kuroo smacked him, "I TOLD YOU TO STOP SAYING THAT!" Kuroo said, I walked over to put my stuff down. "Hey, Yaku?" I turned around, "What do you want Lev?" He smiled, "Wanna practice receives with me later?" "I mean I guess." I said while looking away. After that me and Lev.. I guess you could say.. have gotten closer.
(Present time..) "YAKU!! MY LITTLE SHORTIE!" I walked in the gym hearing the same thing every day, "Lev how many times are you-" I said but then felt someone pick me up, "HEY! LEV PUT ME DOWN!!" I shouted while hitting his back, "Why should I?" He said while running around the gym holding me, "LEVVVVV!!" Kuroo yelled, he then fell to the floor and I landed on top of him.. I quickly jumped off him and went to change into my gym clothes. "Heyyyy, so Yaku? I have a question.." Lev said while walking towards me, "What do you want Lev?" He smiles and grabbed my hand while I blushed, "Yaku.. I-I like you.." Everyone in the gym started at me and Lev, at this point it felt like I was gonna explode.. "I.. like you too, Lev." I looked away blushing but then felt him pull me into a kiss.. one I wanted to last forever.. but I knew that couldn't happen. (A couple days later..) It was Saturday and I got a text from Lev.. (Lev- HI MY PRETTY LITTLE SHORTIE! WANNA HANG OUT? PLS 💕-) I giggled at the text and quickly responded, (Yaku- Sure. I don't want to be surrounded by tall people sooo come over here-) It had been five minutes and he hasn't responded yet, "Jesus- I hope he didn't die-" I heard someone running into the house and I got scared so I hid under the blanket, I then felt something jump on me. I peeked out of the blanket and saw Lev, "LEV! DONT SCARE ME LIKE THAT!!" He smiled and quickly gave me a kiss. I handed him a controller and we started playing Minecraft. I soon fell asleep in Lev's lap and he did too. (A month later.. on call..) "Hey.. Yaku? Can I come over?" Lev said, I smiled, "Yeah!" "Okay, love you, bye." "Love you!" I waited a bit for him to get here and noticed someone rang the doorbell. I assumed it wasn't Lev since he never knocks, "Who's here Yaku?" My mom shouted, I opened the door and saw Lev, "Oh, JUST LEV MOM!" I pulled Lev into my room, "Sooo, what'd you need Lev?" He pulled me into a long.. and I mean REALLY long kiss. "Are you breaking up with me?!" I said, "WHAT? NO NO! I just wanted to come over!" I smiled, "Oh. I wasn't scared or anything." He then pulled me into another REALLY long kiss. My mom knocked on the door and I quickly pushed Lev off, "Uh- I'll just leave.." She said. Lev then kissed me again and this time left a few love bites. (Couple weeks later..) Kuroo was calling me for the first time in a while, "Uh hey Kur-" "YAKU! HURRY AND GET TO THE HOSPITAL! NOW!" He shouted, I dropped the phone and told my mom I was leaving. When I got to the hospital I saw Kuroo and Kenma waiting for me by the elevator, "YAKU! CMON!" We rode up the elevator and they dragged me to the hospital room. I honestly had no clue what was going on- "LEV?!" I shouted, my heart was going 100 miles per hour and tears were streaming down my face. "WHAT HAPPENED??" I shouted, Kenma came over to me and patted my back, "He randomly collapsed. They said he.. he has leukemia.." At the moment he said that I felt my heart break.. "LEV! PLEASE! IT'LL BE ALRIGHT!" His eyes started squinting and I hugged him as tight as I could, "Yaku? Kuroo? Kenma?" He mumbled, "I LOVE YOU LEV!" I shouted, "I love you too Yaku." Lev had been in the hospital for a couple weeks now.. and every night I would stay there. "Yaku.. please go home." He said, "No! Lev I'm not leaving til you get better." He smiled slightly and lifted up the blanket, I climbed in the bed with him and cuddled him. "I love you Yaku." "I love you too Lev." He went to sleep. Later in the night I woke up and heard his breathing slowing down, "Lev? Are you okay?" I then heard the machine next to him slowly beeping. He squinted his eyes open,
"I love you.. my little shortie.." "Lev.. I love you too. Please don't leave me!" Lev then spoke his last words..
"I'm always here."
The heart line machine stopped beeping.
"Your always here.."
I started sobbing, "LEV! LEV! PLEASE!" He wouldn't wake up. No nurses came. I did the only thing I wanted to in that moment. I cuddled into his arms and waited til morning. It had been a couple hours since they made me leave Lev's hospital room. Kuroo and Kenma had been calling me but I wouldn't answer. I got home and started breaking down in my room. I pulled out my Nintendo and put flowers around me and Lev's house. I then realized what he meant..
he's always here.. wether he's visible or not.
