Chapter Three
Kaelani Bear Eden
Screams.
They echoed throughout the dark hall.
Every turn.
Every corner.
Whimpering I cried out.
"Kaelani don't! Stay out! Don't come in!" Juniper shouted.
"Juni?" I whimpered looking for her. But all there was, was darkness.
"Juni!" I sobbed hating the way the darkness curled against my body wrapping around me.
"Don't Kaelani! Please don't!" Ariel added a sob escaping her lips.
"Don't leave me in the dark!" I cried. A small light began to illuminate and I ran for it.
Freezing at the familiar red door.
"Don't Kaelani! Don't do it!"
Quivering in fear I ignored them and slammed open the door.
The screams were back.
It was me.
I was screaming.
"We told you not to come in." Juniper cried her hazel eyes filled with tears as she looked back at our brother.
"Kai!"
-------------------
Gasping for air I stumbled out of bed. Throwing the blankets off my body I slammed onto the floor.
I wheezed and gasped trying to breathe but I couldn't.
That image of Kai once again burned to my eye lids.
"Kaelani!" I could hear Ariel rush around my bed. Taking me into her arms she smoothed my hair away from my face.
"Breathe baby breathe. Come on! Like this -" she inhaled and exhaled staring at me with wide frightened eyes. "Fück Kaelani breathe!" She shouted.
"Juniper do it!" I could hear Ariel shout as Juni entered the room.
Shutting my eyes I struggled. My chest began to burn, heaving with the loss of oxygen. My eyes burned and tears rushed down my cheeks landing on my clammy chest.
Seconds later my throat opened allowing me to take a greedy breath of air.
"There baby." Juniper softly whispered kissing my sweaty forehead.
Clutching onto my sisters I cried silently.
Humming under her breathe Ariel soothed me.
"I'm sorry." My voice cracked making me wince and my fingers rubbed my throat.
"Don't Kaelani." Ariel frowned pushing my hair away from my clammy tear filled cheeks.
"You can stay home sweetie." Juni added motioning for me to get back in bed.
Widening my eyes I shook my head.
Fears of going back to that dream. Of seeing Kai - his tanned skin so pale. His vibrant emerald green eyes ... white.
"No I'm going!" I shouted getting out of their arms. "I-I want to go." I stuttered standing to my feet making sure to keep a distance from my bed.
"You just had an attack Kaelani!" Ariel shouted glaring up at me.
"I want to go. I-I need to go." Rubbing my finger tips I walked to my balcony doors. Opening the doors wide open shivering as the February air hit my bare legs.
