Markel POV

BANG

I sprang to my feet. What's that? I look around the room, rubbing my eyes. A black wooden dresser and red silk curtains. The red blanket has white details. This isn't my living quarters. I slowly emerge from under the blanket. I'm just wearing a white shirt that reaches my knees.

"JASON!" I try to open the bedroom door as quickly as I can. It's closed, as you'd expect it to be. My misfortune.

"JASON!" Tears are welling up in my eyes. I slam the door shut. Footsteps get closer and closer to me.

Click

In the doorway, Jason's figure emerges. He was sweating profusely, and his muscles could be seen under his shirt. I dash into his arms and encircle him with my arms.

"Hey, Pup," He raises my head by putting his hand under my jaw. With his other hand, he brushed away my tears.

"There would be no tears. What are you doing now that you've gotten out of bed?"

"Can you tell me what time it is? "Whose space is this?"

"You're in my room, cutie." Jason gives me a kiss on the back. "And it's ten o'clock in the morning."

Jason's quarters. I've never been in this building before. He's been in my bed at all times. It's no surprise that I had no idea whose room I was in. I'm sorry, but I'm a complete moron. Jason's fragrance pervades the room. Jason's perfume entices me to take a sniff. Jason is giggling. I slant my head to the side and stare him down. What makes this so amusing? My tummy grumbles.

"Come on, let's go find something to eat."

Before I can respond, Jason takes my hand and leads me to the kitchen. Ephraim is frying, and Akron is doing the dishes.

With a smile on his face, Ephraim greets me as "Morning Markel." I grin.

"Good morning, Ephraim. "Good morning, Akron."

A tiny wave from Akron. Jason takes a seat at the kitchen island. He gestures for me to take a seat beside him. He wraps his arm around my waist as I take a seat next to him. That's strange. That's not something he usually does. I raise my eyes to him. His jawline and mesmerizing green eyes were clear. Looking at them gives me a sense of security.

Jason POV

Someone is staring at me. Markel is looking at me as I turn around. His light baby blue eyes were focused on me. I want to pinch his cheeks and hug him tightly because of his baby face. Why does he feel the need to be so adorable? He blinks and tilts his head. Ephraim approaches Markel and puts a plate in front of him. When Markels sees the plate of waffles, his eyes light up. He takes a bite out of it. He gives me a look before taking a piece and sticking it in front of my face. I smile as I open my mouth to take a bite of waffle. Markel guffaws. His guffaws bring a smile to my face. All of the effort I put in this morning was well worth it. Part of the punishment was to assist in the delivery of wood for the new house being constructed on Pack grounds.I got up early as well to complete Markel's mission. I needed to get as much sleep as possible for my ba- I mean Markel.

"Markel, your eighteenth birthday is approaching, right?" While handing him a cup of water, Akron inquired.

"Yeah, it'll be here in a few days." I keep an eye on Markel as he takes a drink of water.

"Are you looking forward to finding your soulmate?" With a big smile on his face, Ephraim said.

"I suppose, I'm not certain. I'm hoping they like going on adventures."
