So I'm starting a second fanfic because I've been wanting to start this story for awhile now(: I WILL be continuing Soaring Love AND this story. Enjoy! ~K
--------------------------------------

You could say that I'm pretty boring. I have a routine that I do everyday. I go to school, come home, eat, do homework, go on the Internet, then eat some more, and then sleep.

Did I mention that I also spend most of my time obsessing over bands? I do that a lot.

You see, I don't have much friends. I have one best friend and that's all. I used to have more, but then I wasn't "cool enough" for them. I'm fine with that though because they never liked my music taste, and we didn't have much in common.

People always ask me what I'm going to do when I get out of high school, but I have absolutely no idea.

I don't think I'm talented in anything, unless eating and sleeping counts. They should give scholarships for that because then I wouldn't have to pay for college. Life would be great.

I'm 17 and have no idea what I'm going to do with my life. My parents keep pressuring me to go to law school because I like to argue and I have really good grades, but that just doesn't sound appealing to me.

Both of my parents are lawyers, and I want to go in a different path with my life. The only issue is that I don't know what path I want to take.

I currently live in San Diego, though I was born in Maine. My parents made my brother, Jason, and I move to California because they got a job offer that paid more money. Then they enrolled us in a private school called Ridgeway.

The only good thing about Ridgeway is my best friend, Hannah. She's the only other girl who's not stuck up at that school. We became best friends instantly.

"Earth to Emily," Hannah waves her hand in front of my face. "Are you dead?" She flicks my head.

"Ow! What was that for?" I say, giving her an annoyed expression.

"You were zoning out and had a blank face. Ha ha, sort of like that Taylor Swift song. Blank Space? No? Okay," Hannah laughs at her own joke.

"That joke was as bad as Harry's," I shake my head.

"You literally can't think of anything besides One Direction can you?" Hannah asks.

"I'm just really excited for the book signing tomorrow," I smile.

"Thanks to me," she winks.

"Yes. Thank you so so much for winning me a ticket to the signing. You're the best friend ever! I'm even going to name my kid after you!" I dramatically hug her.

"Your sarcasm is not appreciated," Hannah laughs. "Maybe I'll use that ticket myself."

"I'm just kidding! I love you Hannah Banana!"

"You know I hate that name Em," she grumbles.

"I know. I do it to annoy you," I smile.

"Well it works."

"On a completely unrelated topic, are you coming over to my house tonight?"

"That'd be fun! Just let me run by my house and then I'll come over," Hannah replies.

"Alright. I hope you don't mind that my brother will be there. He's visiting from his college."

"I am totally fine with that. You can invite me over anytime he's there," she winks.

"You wouldn't be saying that if you lived with him. He's a slob," I laugh.

"I could live with that. I'll see you in a few," Hannah says while heading to her car.

"Okay. See you soon," I reply.

I walk to my car and pull out of the senior parking lot. I can't wait until I'm out of high school.

"Mom, I'm home!" I holler.

"Oh hey sweetie," my mom smiles, coming out of the kitchen doorway. "I'm making cookies right now because they were going to go bad."

"Oh what type?"

"Sugar cookies," my mom replies.

"I LOVE THOSE!" I run into the kitchen and take a cookie from the cooling rack. I stuff it in my mouth without a second thought.

"Wait! Those are-"

"HOT!" I scream while frantically searching for a glass of water. I run over to the sink and spray my mouth with the cool water.

"They just came out of the oven silly," my mom shakes her head at me.

"Obviously, seeing as I burnt my tongue."

"Well aren't you sassy today. Did something happen?"

"Nothing happened. Oh and Hannah is coming over tonight by the way," I comment.

"Alright. And your brother should be arriving in a couple of minutes," my mom says.

"I can't wait to see him. It seems like I haven't seen him in forever."

"I miss him as much as you do," she smiles sadly.

"When Hannah comes will you tell her to come to my room please?" I ask.

"Will do."

"Thanks mama bear," I kiss her cheek and grab a couple of cookies before jogging up the stairs.

I immediately flop on my bed, and scroll through Tumblr and Twitter. Eventually Hannah peeks in my room and let's herself in.

"Where's that hot piece of a brother you have?"

"Nice to see you too," I answer.

"Don't be jealous, I still love you more," she sticks her tongue out at me.

"I need help choosing my outfit for tomorrow. It has to be perfect."

Hannah walks into my closet and pulls out several outfits.

"How are these? I didn't know exactly what type of look you wanted to go for, so I just grabbed some cute things," Hannah rambles.

"These are so cute! I never would've paired these together. You should be a stylist or something," I hug her.

"What can I say? I'm just an all-around talented person," Hannah says while flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"I'll choose my final outfit in the morning since the signing isn't until 3."

"Okay. What do you want to do right now?" Hannah asks.

"Let's watch a movie! And then we can play a game or something," I suggest.

"What movie do you want to watch?"

"This Is Us?"

"Ugh. Fine. We're watching The Avengers afterwards though," Hannah mumbles.

"Yay! You're the best," I say while grabbing the movies and putting them in the DVD player. Meanwhile, Hannah jumps in my bed.

I try to focus on the movies, but it seems impossible with everything on my mind. I can't wait for tomorrow, but I'm also really nervous.

What if I say the wrong thing? What if I can't say anything at all?

My mind races with rhetorical questions and doubts. Then, Niall's smiling face pops up on the TV and I can't help but smile. Tomorrow I get to meet the one guy who makes me truly happy and feel special. The only issue, he doesn't know me yet.
