Pt.1
I woke up by a sudden crash, I looked around me, the dark room seemed to consume anything I would try and see. I looked to my right and down at my wife, her sound sleeping body slowly rose and fell as she breathed. I got up and slowly made my way to the door way and opened the door enough to see down the hallway, the wood floors glistened a bit as the moon reflected off them, I heard slow and silent footsteps walk across the creaky old floors then turn a corner and their blinding flash light seared my dilated pupils. "there!" I heard them say and they opened fire the bullets lodging themselves in the wood doorframe next to my head. I slammed the door and turned around to Akira's scared face. "h...Harley...?" she softly spoke my name and fell back into the bed, I ran over to her, her face had gone pale and her eyes stuck open as I lowered my eyes to the blood pooling near her stomach and staining the white sheets. My eye sight got blurry and my breathing scattered as I heard abbi faintly crying in the other room, soon the door flew open and men dressed in black holding rifles up towards me entered the room, the lasers were faintly visible through my blurry vision, "back away from the bed and lay on the ground!" I heard one yell, I held my head down and opened the nightstand and brought out Akira's mask and put it on and stood up. "lay on the ground or we will open fire!" they yelled again but I could not hear them over the ringing in my ears. I could feel the blood rush to my lower stomach as I heard a popping noise, I looked down at my bare chest now turning red from the small bullet wound that had formed, the pain overwhelmed me and pleasure filled my mind, I started laughing as I balled my fist and punched my open wound filling my brain with more dopamine, I looked up and I could feel my mind start feeling fuzzy as my kagune filled my hand, I rushed them slashing and slicing as I made my way through person after person their screams muffled by the splatters of their blood, I chased the last one as he went for the open door I ran over and held him above my head by his hair the fear made his eyes dart from side to side looking for a escape, "please! I didn't mean to I- "his words were cut off by the slice of my scythe cutting through his torso and the sound of his body dropping to the floor, I could hear his ear piece as someone kept asking if anyone was there.
I kept driving, through the night, and day not stopping once my eyes never left the center yellow line of the road. I drove and drove the end of the road never ending until I reached a small town in California the streets filled with potholes and homeless, I drove through the main part of the town and into a small driveway a light blue house loomed over me as I turned off my car and looked into the mirror at little sleeping abbi, I took a deep breath and got out of the car and unbuckled abbi holding her close to my body as I walked up the driveway and up to the front door knocking once and waiting the sounds of footsteps approached and the door opened, my poor mother stood there with a apron wrapped around her waist "can I help you?" her voice reminded me of comfort. I removed my bloodstained mask and she stood there in shock "hi mom" my voice filled the silent air as she hugged me and brought me inside "where have you been? I thought you got kidnapped or worse!" I pulled away from the hug she looked down at the small child only 4 days old "is this? Yours?" her eyes widened as she took her from me and held her close kissing her multiple times on the head, "how did this happen?" the disappointment was visible in her face, "can we sit down for this?" I asked as she handed abbi back to me and sat me down on the couch, I began to explain my new life.
