THE HILL
THE 7 GUARDIANS

The guardians were lost.
The guardians were scared.
And above all else: the guardians were angry.

Each and everyone of them felt the anger in the pit of their stomachs as they passed through countless areas of Mars.

The leader of Shadow Clan, who wore a sleek mask to hide his identity, had taken everything from them.

Their people were sick. Their people were dying. Enchantress was nowhere to be found, and Megan, the only other person with powers, was just as AWOL as the Enchantress was.

The guardians stood on a high hill that outlooked the godly range of The Region of Intellect.

All of the guardians sat in silence not knowing what to say or do. Many places in the 7 Regions had been contaminated with The Cold Touch. The air was bitter and stale, even on the hill.

"We can't give up." spoke Kelly.

A chuckle flew from Cardi's mouth.

"Look around brainiac, we already have." Cardi said scornfully.

She felt eyes on her, and so she looked over to the right, where the hazel-green eyes of Robyn met her own.

Sighing, Cardi dropped her head.

Chris huffed. "What's up with you and her?" he asked aloud to Robyn.

Robyn flinched, and stuttered, "N-nothing-"

"Bullshit." Chris muttered, cutting Robyn off.

"Hey Dingleberry, you really think this is the time?" Abel snapped, raising his head from his own lap.

Chris swung his arms around standing up.

"Well shit, it's as good a time as any. We're all tired-out, Beyoncé's a fire-freak, Onika has lost a bunch of blood, and Enchantress is missing. So why not? Huh?!" Chris shouted at the end.

He turned to Robyn.

"I've seen the way you look at Cardi and I see the way she looks at you. Tell me there ain't shit between y'all." He demanded in all seriousness. His voice was cold, and lowered.

Robyn sat silently, slightly shaking from his tone of voice.

Chris lunged towards her.

"Huh?! What?! You can't speak?" He yelled, a vein was visible on his neck, and forehead.

"Leave her alone Chris-"

"Shut up Abel!" Chris chastised.

"This ain't training school anymore, little boy. She can do anything she wants to. Don't make me whoop you like I used to back then." Cardi spoke unemotionally.

Her hand wrapped around Robyn's in reassurance.

Chris frowned at the gesture.

He looked between Robyn and Cardi, finally his eyes landed on Robyn.

"After all these years..." he whispered.
