Who Wants Desert?

"I'd like to take you on a date"

My mouth dropped open as I stared across the table.

"Of course you can!" my mom said.

"WHAT mom wait no!"

"Don't be silly Mia there's nothing to fret over."

"We don't even know him."

"Yes absolutely!"

My mouth opened even wider. How can she just agree to a date. WITH OUT MY CONSENT!!! He smiled and went back to eating his dinner. Mason looked at me and shook his head. My mom just set me up on a date with that jock string ass Jackson. How could she? If she knew what happen to day she'd try to kill him. I couldn't tell her. That was her boss' son.

"Lighten up I'm sure it will be fun."

"As if" I said under my breath.

"I'm sure my son will treat your daughter fine kimberly."

"Anyone care to know what I think?" I said agitated.

"Go on" said Mr. Hernandez

"I think that someone should consider that I don't want to go on this date because your some here is a complete double. Also he is the worst company and he is a jerk at school that is now worth my time."

Everyone looked at me like I had shit on my face.

"I'm pretty sure I can make it worth your while." said the perv Jackson.

"How dare you, you little stupid a-"

"WHO WANTS DESERT?" Mom screamed over me.

Everyone went silent and mom collected the plates and brought out a cake. We all ate the delicious cake while mom and Mr. Hernandez made small talk. Jackson didn't say anything else to me. He had a look in his which made him seem distant. Mason had the same look in his eyes. Maybe they were stunned by my action. I was to I usually keep my cool and keep my head. The time came for "our" guests to leave.  We all made our way to the door and I said by to Mr. Hernandez and Mason. Jackson pulled me into an unexpected hug and whispered bus in my ear. For some strange reason I had the feeling that he wasn't going to leave. I pulled away from him and stood next to my mom. Jackson left out the door but not before me kissed my mother's hand. Such a faker. Mom closed the door and turned towards me. She gave me the you know what's about to happen look. I ran up the stairs went in her room and grabbed fluffens my teddy bear. I sat on her bed with my bear in my lap. Mom came up the stairs with cookies and a movie. Whenever she or I wanted to talk we always meet in her room with cookies and a movie for afterwards. She closed the door behind her and say on the bed with me. I could tell where this talk was about to go. I just wasn't ready to tell her about what happen at Jackson's house. But if it came down to that I will tell my mom the truth before I lie for that bastard.

"Ever since I got home today you've been acting strange. What's going on Mia?"

"Well remember when I told you that I was going to my partners house for our project?  Well Jackson was my partner. And when we got to his house he started acting out and he forced himself on me. But Mason saved me. When they came for dinner Jackson apologized for what he did he said he wasn't thinking straight. So when I found out that his dad was your boss I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to do anything that would jeopardize your job."

Mom looked at me with sympathy and sorrow.

"I'm so sorry Mia in so sorry. I understand now why you put up a front with the date thing. Thank you for carrying about my job but nothing is more important than you."

She reached for the phone and I already knew what was about to happen. I took the phone from her and she eyed me.

"I know your angry so am I but I don't want you to lose your job. I am ok thanks to Mason and I'm here with you please just calm down. "

She looked at me as if making sure I was honest. Then she gave me a look pleading for an outburst.

" Go ahe-"

"HOW DARE HE DO THAT SHIT TO YOU. HE DON'T KNOW ME I WILL BEAT HIS FUCKING ASS I DON'T CARE WHO HIS DADDY IS. FUCKING TOUCH MY DAUGHTER ARE YOU CRAZY!?!?!"

She calmed down and turned on the movie and turned off the lights. I grabbed the cookies and watched the movie with my mommy. I wonder what would have happened if she found out about what happen outside his house.
