Author's Note: For the purpose of this fic, I'm going to refer to the boogie guy from the ad as Tyrone, and the milkshake lady as Karen. The salad lady also makes an appearance and I'll call her Becky. I'm also going to name the delivery guy Chad.

I remember standing in the sand near the tent, waiting for the next command. My comrade was standing across the way from me. We couldn't speak to one another so as to not alert nearby enemy threats. He decided to take a step towards me; which unbeknownst to either of us, it would be his last. He stepped on a mine, killing him instantly and spreading his remains across the area. Words couldn't describe the horror and trauma I faced that day, witnessing a person who was not only my friend explode right in front of me, but my former husband as well.

Karen rose from her couch gasping for air, having just relived her ex-husband's death in her dreams. The two had been serving in the Marine Corps for 10 years at the time. After she witnessed her husband's death, the pain of serving had took a toll on her, especially with her finding out about her child two days prior to deployment. It was too much to bear, and she decided to retire after her contract ended, which was two months after she returned from deployment. Now she's 9 months pregnant, and expecting her child in the next two weeks.

After processing her PTSD-fueled nightmare, she decided to get up and get a glass of water. Right as she poured it, the doorbell rang. She set the glass down and went to go open the door. On the other side was a GrubHub driver, carrying her food in hand. He greeted her and gave her the meal. He asked how her day went and she said it went well until the nightmare she just had. He says he hopes the best for her and bids Karen a good day.

As he leaves, she looks across the way to see her neighbor Tyrone, who just received a GrubHub order from the same guy. They wave to each other and he motions for her to come over to him. She heads over to his house.

"Well hi Tyrone. How are you?"

"I'm doing great Karen, how about yourself?"

"I'm okay. I had another dream of my husband again."

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry." he replied. "Why don't you come inside and we can talk it over. My son's at a friend's house right now so no need to worry about him."

"Thank you. I appreciate the help."

The two of them walk inside and sit on recliners that are right next to one another. The two proceed to eat and converse with one another.

"So, what was the dream like? Was it-" Tyrone begins.

She cuts him off, saying, "I - I saw him, but it was the last time we were together. I couldn't bear to live through it again, even if someone held me at gunpoint."

Tyrone becomes disheartened by what she's saying, and tries to comfort her.

"Hey, it's okay. Although he may be gone, that doesn't mean you have to stop doing what you want, and achieving what you wish to do. I remember that when my wife left, I was in shambles, with nothing but a foreclosed house and a kid to raise. But I was able to get the success I wanted out of life. And I know you can too. You can persevere through your troubles and make the most out of your circumstances, even if they are grim. You just need to be determined and hard-working."

"I appreciate your help." She starts, with her eyes slightly watering. "It's just that, I don't know what to do now that he's gone."

Tyrone responds saying, "You may not know what to do from here, but there's those around you who can help. You can trust them to provide you with things you need to get through your struggles. Look, if you ever need or want anything from me, no matter what it is, I'll do my best to deliver."
