“Kenmaa! Kenmaa! Look what I got!” It had always been your dream to have a pet dog, and you would always talk to Kenma Kozume about it. Although he didn’t like dogs that much he would listen patiently. And one month  later your dream came true. You got your own puppy.

“Kenma? Can you come to my house? There’s something I want to show you.” You asked Kenma after class. He looked at you with his usual expression. “Sure. But I have practice first, so I’ll stop by on my way home.” He said going to the gym.

“Good luck. Oh and say hi to Kuro for me.” You waved goodbye and left to go home. Oh but before I forget… I still had something I wanted to give to Kenma… You headed to your locker to get  the apple pie you had baked yesterday evening.

You looked through the window of the gym. Kenma was standing next to the net, ready to set another ball. Kuro was running towards the net, determined to spike a quick. (A/n I’m sure you Haikyuu!! lovers already know what all these terms mean.) When Kuro hit the ball and it successfully landed in the field he grinned and gave Kenma a thumbs up, while he just looked at Kuro with his usual expression.

Carefully you entered the gym. Everyone was so concentrated with playing that they didn’t even notice you walking in. You waited patiently until they would change setters so you would be able to talk to Kenma alone. Kuro spotted you before Kenma did, and smirking he came over to you.

“Hey there F/n. I bet you’re here for Kenma right? Bringing your boyfriend some pie?” He said looking at the pie and attempting to grab a piece. You smacked his hand away. “It’s not for my boyfriend, but it is for Kenma. You won’t get a piece unless he decides to give you one.”

“Alright alright… Chill…” He said walking away to fetch Kenma instead of calling him halfway across the gym. When Kenma say you he looked at you with an expression of surprise, before waving. “What are you doing here? I thought you went home.” He said tilting his head. “Yeah, well… I remembered I had something for you so I thought I might as well just bring it…” You said.

Kenma lifted his head smelling the air around him. “Is that what I think it is?” His eyes shined by the idea of apple pie. You raised the apple pie to his face. “Surprise! I thought that maybe you’d like some apple pie.” You said smiling.

You felt the weight of the pie leave your hands, and a pressure form around you. “Thank you F/n. You always know what I like.” Kenma said and he smiled one of his rare, but precious smiles.

“Oh God… Would you please just get a room?” You heard Kuro shout in your direction. Kenma and you rolled your eyes at the same time, which made you laugh. Kenma turned around. “If you don’t cut it out Kuro I swear I won’t ever set a good ball for you to spike.” Kenma threatened.

“Anyways… Thank you for the pie F/n.” He said ruffling your hair before turning around. “I’ll stop by at your place later.” He said without facing you. When you exited the gym you couldn’t hear the sound of balls hitting the ground anymore, so you walked up to the window and peeked inside.

Voices started to talk. “So Kenma… When are you going to tell her?” All the volleyball boys were gathered in a circle enjoying the apple pie you had made.

“I’m going to her house after training, so probably then.” He answered stuffing his mouth with another piece of apple pie. He was going to tell you something? Was he going to come out of the closet? Or tell you he had a deadly illness?
