                                                                        Chapter  One

                                                                       Dressage  Test.

Sat upon the powerful stallion,                                                                                                                                         long boots gleaming and supple,                                                                                                                                   spurs polished and glistening,                                                                                                                                      gently brush against the horse's sides,                                                                                                                        white breeches covered by the tail-coat,                                                                                                                     a navy riding hat covers her blonde hair,                                                                                                                     the cream silk stock, neatly tied with a diamond pin,                                                                                           white leather gloves held up high,                                                                                                                                  the rider smiles proudly, containing her steed's energy.

At 17hh, the chestnut steps higher and higher,                                                                                                         ears pricking back and forth with excitement,                                                                                                         the stallion eagerly awaits his rider's commands,                                                                                                  a flaxen mane of tiny plaits along the arched neck,                                                                                                the chestnut and flaxen tail swishes in the air,                                                                                                           hooves painted with black high-gloss oil,                                                                                                                 four white socks reach up to knees and hocks,                                                                                                        his face covered by a long blaze, disappearing beneath his chin,                                                                    every muscle toned, his chestnut coat metallic like copper.
