The Past

Maya's POV

When I woke up this morning I thought everything would be normal, I would head to the Matthew's place and eat breakfast with Riley and head to school together on the subway. I would see Farkle and Smackle being all cute while discussing science, Zay trying and failing to pick up girls while Huckleberry is laughing at Zay. This is my normal but when I came and rang the doorbell nobody answered.

I tried to ring the bell again and the same thing happened, so I did what any sane person would do I shouted and still no answer. I gave up after 5 minutes and decided to take the subway by myself to school, I hope Riley is there because it was weird that no one answered, there is always someone to answer the door for me.

I manage to get to school and I went straight for my locker because it was next to Riley's and as I thought she was standing there talking to our group but they seemed to be arguing about something.

"What's up losers and Riley," I said to them as I smiled, but what I got in return was Lucas, Farkle, and Riley glaring at me while Zay and Smackle looked at me with what looked like sympathy before their expressions changed to annoyed looks while looking at the others.

"Ah, what's going on?" I asked very confused.

"Like you don't know," Riley said to me in a mocking voice which was shocking because this only happened twice before with us.

"I don't know, I came by your place so we can go to school together and you weren't there. Are you mad at me?"

"We know what you did Maya, you might as well admitt what you had planned to do," Huckleberry said in an angry voice, a very Texas Lucas voice.

"TELL ME WHAT I DID!" I shouted at them because I had no clue to what was going on.

"We heard from a few girls in our biology class that you planned to break up Riley and Lucas because you still have feelings for him," Farkle spoke up for them and I laughed at the insanity of it.

"You think I like cowboy over there, we had this solved already. I didn't like Lucas before and I still don't, why would I try to break up the next Corey and Topanga."

"That's what I thought at first too, but I went through your locker to prove to myself and everyone that you weren't like that," my best friend said to me with a hurt expression.

"She found your journal and saw on a few pages how much you liked me and the plans you had to break us up secretly so you can keep our friendship and go out with me," Lucas finished the rest for Riley.

"That is absurd, I did not write that," I said to them trying to keep my sadness in check.

"Riley," I said to her as I tried to reach for her hand but she pulled away from me with tears in her eyes.

"Guys this is insane, someone must have set this up because this is Maya we are talking about," Zay spoke up defending me as he stood next to me squaring up with Lucas.

"I agree, Maya always put Riley's needs and feeling before her own," Smackle said next as she looked at all of us not sure what to do since Farkle is her boyfriend.

"Then how do you explain what Riley found in her locker," Farkle said next.

"I don't know, obviously someone wants to break up this friendship, I would never do something like this to you guys. Riley I love you I have always put you first," I said trying to get them to see my point of view.

"You always thought you better then me right. How easy it will be to trick me into breaking up with Lucas. Or how you wrote that you were better then me in everything."
