"THREE! TWO! ONE!" Clarkston's student section screamed at the top of their lungs as the clock wound down to zero and the final score showed that Clarkston had won the state championship.

The next few seconds were a blur.

The crowd sprinted down the large bleachers, the loud sound of metal meeting foot causing a huge headache for Zoë, and the football team being enveloped by the students.

"Where are they?!" Amber yelled over the screaming crowd.

"I don't know!" Zoë yelled back as they weaved they're way throughout the crowd, searching for Carden and Cam.

It was hard to tell who a person was. Everyone was jumping and screaming as the the announcer yelled over the speakers. It was a sea of blue and white.

Suddenly, a hand wrapped around Zoë's waist and she found herself face to face with an eye black smeared Carden. He had a huge smile on his lips and sweat glistened against the shimmering lights. "Hey."

She pulled his helmet off his head and ran her fingers through his hair. "Hey."

"Do you see the score up there?"

She glanced up. "Yes, yes I do."

He leaned closer to her. "We're state champs, baby."

"Did you ever doubt it?"

"Well, the interception at the half gave me a bit of a pause."

She laughed as he smiled. All the noise around them turned into a buzz as they stared into each other's eyes. They were inches from each other's face and were about to kiss when a loud pop made Zoë jump and scream.

Carden burst out laughing as confetti began to rain down on them. "I can't believe that scared you."

She glared playfully at him. "Shut up."

"Make me."

She smirked and kissed him and when she did, it felt like the entire world had fallen away. It was just them on a little piece of earth with white confetti sticking in their hair and faint screaming buzzing in the back of her mind.

Carden smiled against her lips. "I love you."

She felt her face lit up and her heart beat quicken. "I love you, too."

And when he pulled her closer to him, she felt the last stitch of her her broken heart finish. Her heart would never be broken again because she was with the love of her life.

They were going to be together forever. Through the thick and thin. Side by side. Hand and hand.

Guess being thrown over the edge of Mount Olympus can't even break apart true love.
