Subtle Comfort - Javier Peña

Summary: Javi gets home from a long day at work and relaxes in the calm company of his partner Lettie.

The sound of familiar footsteps echoed down the hallway as Lettie lay in bed. She hated sitting up into the early hours, waiting for Javier, unable to sleep for fear of waking up to an empty bed.

But the sound of his footsteps made all the waiting worth it, a gentle wave of relief washed over her as she settled into the soft bed, beginning to slowly drift off to sleep.

Before she was completely asleep the sound of the bedroom door pulling open and slicking closed brought her back to the moment, though she didn't move from where she lay. Not wanting to disturb the Male as he tried to get to bed.

The end of the bed dipped as he settled down to undress. His boots made a gentle thump sound as they hid the floor before being joined by his belt; his shirt and his trousers. Leaving him in just his underwear.

He shuffled up to lay on his side of the bed. Still for a moment as he caught his breath before turning to wrap his arms around Lettie and pull her close into his chest so he could sleep. His lips left soft trailing kisses across her shoulders. It was his way of silently apologising for being late home again for the third time that week.

Javier fell asleep rather quickly after the long, stressful and somewhat dangerous day at work, though every complicated work issue just melted away once he was in his home and holding onto the one he loved.

Lettie woke up in the morning with Javier sleeping peacefully beside her. She wiggled around in his arms to look up at his face. Only when he slept did he look truly calm and she found him so handsome in those moments. Those peaceful drowsy moments in the morning before the Male would wake up, scrunch up his face and furrow his brow at the slightest hint of having to go to work.

She slipped from his grasp willing him to stay asleep and she got out of bed to organise a few things to make the start of his day easier.

Javier woke to the smell of fresh coffee and bacon wafting through the house. Lettie's side of the bed empty and cold. She'd been up for a while. He moved to stand up realising there were some new clothes laid out for him to get dressed for work after a shower. A smile crept its way across his lips.

He stood up making his way to the bathroom. A clean towel hung on the towel warmer and his body wash shampoo and toothbrush and toothpaste were laid out where they were needed. "What a woman" he shook his head with a grin as he spoke to hah reflection in the old mirror.

He stripped down, hopping into the shower for a quick warm clean up before getting out to wrap the warm towel around his shoulders before he twisted it up around his hip and he started to brush his teeth.

Once he was dried and dressed the Agent made his way to the kitchen where his arms settle on Lettie's hips like a magnet to a metal sheet and he leaned to place a soft kiss on her neck. Tickling her with his moustache.

"Thank you for organising my morning to save me stress" he smiled at her as she turned to place a soft kiss on his lips "you're really spoiling me with all of these little acts of love"

Lettie couldn't help but grin back at him "you need more of these sublime comforts in your life. It's just further proof that you're allowed to depend on other people" She gently bumped him back with her hips and she picked up two plates "now way your breakfast before that phone rings and you're dragged away early for some unimportant case"

Javi did as he was told. Sitting with his breakfast in front of him he started to eat. His face showed how he felt but he still spoke through a mouthful of bacon.
