Naina looked herself from head to toe in the mirror. Dressed in bridal attire, headline filled with sindoor, mangalstura in her neck but eyes totally void, empty without any emotion in them. She got married few hours back and the marriage ceremony itself turned into big drama. She got ready to be bride of someone else but got married to someone else. Her life was never smooth ride. The twist and turn in her life is more than any Ekta Kapoor serial. Whenever she feels life is going smooth speed breaker hits her and hits her hard. Her parents got divorced when she was nearly year old. Both her parents got married, having their own family and she spent nearly all her childhood moving between both household but wasn't completely accepted in either of them. Her mother Roshni is married to big business tycoon Satvinder khurana and have three children...Sonia, Samar and Rohan. Her father Narinder Singh Ahluwalia lives in Chandigarh and owns few garages and has two sons from his second marriage.
Six year back she was in love with a man but then he also left her and got married to girl of his family's choice. It broke her to pieces and it took everything in her to collect those pieces and start again.
She lives alone in her 1BHK flat in Delhi. Her mother lives here but she prefers her own space where she doesn't feel like stranger. She is teacher for special need children by profession and also writer. She writes blogs for newspaper. Overall she is doing good in her life
Last year she meet Huda when she went with her mother to at a meeting and Huda instantly developed feelings for her. She tried to stay away from him as she thought Huda and his family thinks she is daughter of her mother and her husband. Once she tried to tell him about her father Huda told her he knows everything about her. Naina was relieved and then their friendship started. Three months back Huda purposed to her and she said yes. She wasn't in love with him...but he was...or that's what she thought. Everyone deserves love and for first time she was choosen by someone so how come she can say no. So she went with the flow. They got engaged a month back and were to get married today....but the turn of events made her shiver......
Few hours back....
Naina and Huda's wedding
Huda was sitting infront of holy fire waiting for his bride to arrive. Suddenly his father came to him.
"This marriage is not going to happen."
Huda and everyone was shocked by this statement
"Dad, what are you saying but why?"
"Kyuki yeh shaadi dhokhe se ho rahi hai...Naina Satvinder Khurrana ki beti nahi hai. She is daughter from Mrs. Khurrana's first husband. Itni badi baat inlogo ne humse chupai. Apna khota sikka hum par chala rahe the."
They turned when Naina came into their view.
"Iska baap ek mechanic hai and kuch garage hai uske pas.....ow aadmi (pointing towards Narinder, who was there is simple clothes) ow hai iska baap."
Huda turned to Naina. She was in state of shock. She didn't thought that her wedding will turn out into some masala movie.
"Naina kya yeh sab sach hai.?"
"Ha....."
"Tumne mujhe bataya kyu nahi?"
"Tumne kaha tha tum mere bare me sab jante ho......."
"Yeh bakwas ban kar tu.....mujhe pata hai ki tu yeh baat kyu nahi batayi. Tujhe dar tha kahi Huda tujhe mana na kar de sach jaan kar. Aache se janti hu tum jisi ko me....." Huda's mother taunted her and went towards her mother who was standing with her husband.
"....mr. and mrs. Khurrana apse yeh umeed nahi thi. Mana ki yeh Mrs Khurrana ki beti hai lekin lekin hai toh neeche khandna ki na....nahi karnai hume isse apne eklute bate ki shaadi..."
"Yeh aap kiya keh rahi...Naina Satvinder ki beti nahi hai but meri toh hai na. Naina bhaut aachi hai....aur in sab me iski koi galti nahi hai. Please isa mat kariye." Simran pleaded. But her plead was unheard.
"Huda chalo....." Huda father pulled him.
Naina was looking at him totally lost. Her eyes don't have an tear in them...she was looking at him with hope that he will stay. But when he didn't protest his father's pull...she became lifeless. Again life betrayed her in most ruthless manner.
Some guest started leaving while some started gossiping. Celebration suddenly turned into funeral like silence. Her father came to her.
Naina was standing at centre and every family member lost in their in own delima.
Naina's mother was most distressed as she knows what happen wedding. Who will marry her after this instance as she knows tommorow nearly every newspaper will talk about this.
There was one more person was as distressed. Rajveer.....Rajveer Singh Shekhawat. But he can't do anything. His mother and grandmother to and handel Mrs Khurrana. Rajveer is son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Khurana. He was married to their daughter Sonia. Yes, married as Sonia died last year in car accident. They had 2 children together twins....Rithvik (3) and Rehaan(3). Rajveer always felt Naina is amazing and deserves all the happiness in the world. She is being punished for crime something she hasn't comitted.
"Simran me toh bol hi rahi thi ki Naina ki shaadi Rajveer se kar do. Dono baacho ko maa bhi mil jayegi. Ghar ki baat ghar me rehegi but aap log nahi maane." Rajvee's mother (Kumud) said as she wanted Naina to get married to Rajveer after Sonia's death as she knows Rajveer admires Naina. She even asked Rajveer but he simply said he marry Naina only if she wish to marry him. Kumud talked with Simar about it but Simran told her Naina said no the marriage.
"Toh abhi bhi kiya der hui hai....ab kar dete hai dono ki shaadi. Logo ki baate bhi khatam ho jayegi aur jise ki Kumud ne kaha ghar ki baat ghar me." Gayarti Singh Shekhawat, Rajveer's grandmother came with plan.
And just like that everything fell into to place and Naina was married to Rajveer. But Naina didn't said yes to marriage but also didn't said no.
Present...
So now she is here in Shekhawat mansion. In Rajveer's room.....the room which he shared with her sister. The place she never wanted to be in. She didn't wanted to marry Rajveer and become someone's proxy. She couldn't love those kids. No she didn't hate Sonia...she enved her but never hated her. Sonia had everything she never had. She was loved, was beautiful, got married to Rajveer had kids.... everything. Her life was totally opposite of Naina. She was 2yrs younger than her but always way ahead than her. But still she never hated her.
While looking in mirror she removing her jewellery and door opened and Rajveer walked in. Their eyes meet for brief time...and Rajveer was first to look away. He couldn't make himself look into those silent eyes. Eyes which has lot its life. He just couldn't.
"Naina..... tumhara luggage attached walking wardrobe me shift kar diya gaya hai. Ek servent ko bol kar use apne tarah se arrange karwa lena.Aur ek aur baat yeh ow kamra nahi hai jaha Sonia rehti thi.... infact yeh ow ghar bhi nahi hai."
With this he went to a sliding door, which looked like his office.
Naina sighed and went to wardrobe area to see her things there. She unpacked her bag...took out her comfy clothes and packed her bag again. She doesn't need to unpack she this is not her home. She doesn't belong here and importantly that man is not her husband.... putting mangalstura and doesn't make you husband. She can never fit in this family.
Life is hard and so is she. She took a bath and changed into her clothes clothes and slipped inside the blanket. A good sleep solves 60% of your problem.
It was after 2hrs Rajveer entered in the room. He made sure that no newspaper headlines will be about today's incidence. He knows Naina doesn't like him but it doesn't affect him as he totally understand her issues. He will make sure that she gets her due happiness.
