" trust, such a hard thing to gain but an easy one to lose."
Music thrummed through Kelsey's ear drums, the feeling of the it coursing through her veins like a toxin, infecting her whole. She lightly swayed her hips to the beat as she pushed her long brown hair over her shoulder and out of her face, her fringe tickling her eyes as she smiled at her friend. Halloween had always been her favourite time of year, the autumn colours and carved pumpkins always bringing a sense of belonging and joy.
Drink empty and slightly intoxicated, Kelsey made her way through the crowd, scanning it as she went before she spotted her best friend, Jayden, making out with another lad. Sending him a wink when she caught his eye, she made it to the mini make-shift bar that had been set up for the house party. The man behind the bar looked young, maybe late twenties to early thirties who seemed to be munching on some sherbet lemons judging by there bright yellow colour. He finally made eye contact with her and smiled softly, his eyes made him look old, older and wiser than what he should be. For his costume he was mostly in a tailored suit, with what looked to be a toy Phoenix on his shoulder, Kelsey asked for a drink, praying that he wouldn't ask for her ID. Throughout the whole night she had been relying on other people getting her drinks but guessing from how easy they had gotten them she had assumed that this man was being payed enough to look over the fact that they were all underage.
"What would you like miss?" He said, his voice soft and gently, feeling daring with all the alcohol in her blood Kelsey replied with, "Surprise me." With an almost flirtatious smile to go along with it, the bartender simple smiled and nodded before whipping up a strange blue concoction. It almost seemed to glow in the strobe lights that were flashing around everywhere, "Enjoy." Said the bartender about to serve another customer before Kelsey stopped him by asking what the drink was called, he smirked slightly before saying "Apparition." Not pondering too long on the name Kelsey took a sip before deeming it tasty enough and went back into the party, finishing the drink pretty quickly.
The rest of the night was a blur of music, colour and steamy make-out sessions with whoever before blacking out somewhere, not her smartest move but she could only hope that nothing would happen. What she didn't expect was the wake up to the familiar shake of a train and a loud blaring horn, she groaned and pushed her head further against the cool glass window she seemed to be leaning against, praying that the headache would go away. Unfortunately she wasn't that lucky as now that she had registered the pain in her head, it only grew making it impossible to get back to sleep.
Pushing herself off the window she decided to savour the few more minutes her eyes were closed before peeling them open, one by one. When her eyes had finally unglued themselves and adjusted to the light, even if it wasn't that bright anyway, she immediately leaned herself over resting her elbows on her knees, holding her head in her hands letting out another painstaking groan. It took a minute for her to actually realise that she was in different clothes to the night before, her once black bodycon dress with a black corset around the middle was now replaced with black over the knee socks, a semi short school skirt, a blackish grey school jumper paired with a shirt and cloak over the top with what looked to have Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry emblem sown into it.
Eyebrows furrowed she paused thinking maybe someone had put their costume on her when she passed out? They only thing that was hers was the black Dr. Martin's that she had been sporting that night due to being extremely accident prone in general, never mind in heals. That's when she realised that she was on a train, a bloody train! Panic shot through her like a lightning bolt as she immediately took in her surroundings cursing herself for not doing it sooner, head pounding she took in the carriage, looking very familiar, like as if she had seen it before. Shaking her head thinking that of course she recognised it, she had been a train before, looking out of the window to try and gain her bearings only made her even more disoriented at the breathtaking view but before she could even step out of the carriage to investigate further the train suddenly came to a stop, reaching its destination.
