RANTARO AMAMIS POV:
I wake up around 7am to the sound of an alarm going off.
"Ughhh... shut up." I press 'dismiss' on my phones alarm and toss it to the side.
I lay in my bed for a few minutes before finally deciding to get up. I stretch my back and then get dressed for the day.
I changed into a dark green hoodie and throw on some black skinny jeans. I didn't even bother trying to style my hair;I style it by not styling it.
Still semi-tired I walk out of my room and into the living room.
I look to my right and see.. Shuichi passed out on the couch with books and random papers surrounding him.
Turning my attention from Shuichi to the TV
I realised its still on. Currently it's on a news channel right now, but at the moment it's just the weather forecast.I grab the remote and turn off the tv, it doesn't need to be on right now.
I turn my attention back to Shuichi.
How does one even fall asleep like this? It looks uncomfortable.. he's practically covered in books. And how did they not fall off? Hell, If that was me, those books would be all over the floor.
I feel kind of bad for Saihara, he must've been really tired to fall asleep like that. But that can't be comfortable to sleep like that.. maybe I should try to move them without waking him up?
Yeah.. I guess I could do that.
I walk as quietly as possible towards Shuichi. Although, I probably didn't need too. Shuichi fell asleep with a tv on; so I doubt this would wake him up.
But still, I want to be cautious and make sure not to wake him up.
Whenever his facial expressions or anything about him would slightly change I'd stop. It was seriously like I was playing a game of red-light green-light.
I finally got to Shuichi without waking him up. I gently picked up the books one by one...
And placed them on the floor.
After most of the books were off of him, I decided that that was good enough.
Should be much easier for him to rest now.
That would be the case if I wasn't so stupid.
Turning back around I started to walk towards the kitchen, but...
I guess I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings 'cause.
I tripped over the books and fell on the ground. Instantly waking up Shuichi.
Shuichis eyes instantly shot open and he shot up his head looking everywhere like he had just heard a gunshot or something.
"What-what was that?!"
His eyes finally land on me and he raises his eyebrows.
There I am, lying on the floor, looking like a total idiot.
" 'Sup Saihara?" I say nonchalantly as possible. Trying to brush of the fact that I'm literally on the floor.
"Um- A-Amami? Why are you... on the floor?" Saihara slowly stands up from the couch and reaches out his hand to me.
I take his hand and he helps pull me up, I didn't need it but it was nice of him.
"Oh, um- well.. I was just um. Chillin' on the floor, yeah! Yup! That's it! I just decided to lie on the floor."
Shuichi looked at me like I was crazy or something.
"Is that really a-all it was? Because I remember hearing a bang, so did you trip or something? You don't have to l-lie about that you know.."
"Okay yeah... I did trip, guess I should've figured a detective would've figured that out easily." I say putting my hands up admittingly
"W-well even if I wasn't a detective I still would've figured that out.." Shuichi lowers his head a little.
"I probably couldn't have figured that out..." I say under my breath.
I didn't want to admit it but when it comes to 'solving mysteries' (if you could even call me tripping and lying about it a mystery.) but anyways, when it comes to doing stuff like that;I'm not all that good at it. Especially not if I had just woken up like Shuichi had.
"What did you say?" Shuichi says looking up at me.
"Hm? I didn't say anything;it must've been a ghost you heard or something." I say finally walking towards the kitchen.
"But-" Shuichi began to speak but I cut him off.
"ANYWAYS, we still going roller skating tonight, Saihara?" I look through the fridge and cabinets searching for something to eat.
Well, I'm gonna have to go shopping later then. Maybe Saihara can come with too?
"Oh- right, that." Shuichi seemed pretty nervous about the whole roller skating thing.
"I don't want to pressure you or anything Saihara, it's your decision. I just think it'd be nice to get to know you a little better." I say closing the fridge and looking back at him.
It's kind of weird to admit but, Shuichi is definitely attractive. He isn't very masculine looking, so I wouldn't call him handsome;he's more like beautiful or, pretty.
"N-no..! I'll go, I'm just a little nervous is all. I don't go to social events very often. And I don't really know how to roller skate all that well." The last part was more or less said in a whisper.
"Well, it's not going to be an event it'll just be you and me Saihara." I give off a big smile and laugh.
"..." There wasn't a response from Saihara though. Did I say something wrong?
SHUICHI SAIHARAS POV:
There's something about Rantaro, I actually feel like his words are genuine and that he's a person I can trust. It'll be nice to grow closer to him.
"T-thanks Amami, I'll go but.. promise you won't make fun of me if I fall."
"I would never Saihara! I swear!" He says dramatically and puts his hand over his heart.
I couldn't help from laughing a little.
"Aha! I got it!" He says and puts his hands on his hips.
"Got what?" I'm kind of confused on what he means.
"I got to see you laugh Saihara!" He says smiling proudly.
"Ah, I guess you're right Amami." I say smiling.
